Beautiful location and a quiet place to stop. You need to go under the highway to access this rest area, but that just makes it quieter.

There is running water, although it's nonpotable, and the facilities were clean with plenty of bins.

If you're stopping with a caravan, there's limited space, but you can pull to the far left near the first picnic table as you enter.

Very pleasant stop over on the way to/from Canberra from Sydney.
This view is the most water I've seen in Lake George. Water is about 60cm up the fence posts on the waterline.
Curious thing about all these VC memorial stops between Sydney and Canberra. No stories... Perhaps that was a bridge too far.
Very impersonal too! Just who was Anderson VC. Surely he had a given name?

Amazing view of Lake George and good amenities. Bathrooms, tank water, picnic kitchen etc.
A nice spot to sleep the night whilst on the road

Great little rest stop for small vehicles - traffic is still nearby but the noise is not overpowering. Nice grassed areas, great for toileting your furbaby. When I was there, some adventurous folk were on edge of lake, thoroughly enjoying the presence of water, especially after so many years of not even a drop of water. I saw one vehicle which might have been there overnight, in the prized best shady spot.

Clean toilets with paper. Picnic tables and BBQs available. Off the main road, so is relatively quiet
