This place is always great. They give you tons of food, and the prices are good for the area - more budget friendly & laid back, pub-type environment. My martini was a little sloppy with a thick chunk of cucumber in it, which I ended up putting in my water, but my lobster nachos were really good.

HIGHLY disappointed in this restaurant. The reviews are very deceiving. Prices are extremely high as well.

I ordered the chicken wrap and specifically asked for my French fries to be cooked longer to not be soggy and the waitress brought out the plate with WAY undercooked French fries. I worked for years in the service industry and it’s our job to make sure the customer’s orders are correct. She took them back to be recooked, but that should not have happened.

The wrap itself was very bland and did not have a proper balance of food to veggies. There was also no bacon on one side of it and just a bite size on the other. The waitress did bring out a side of bacon for it. Yet again, it should not have happened.

My friend ordered the lobster fries. The sauce was so rich. The fries, again, were soggy. They needed to be cooked much longer if all the sauce was added to them.

The restaurant was busy. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There has to be better places in Newport.

The food and service itself are pretty standard. It’s not amazing or bad. Portions are good and it’s decent pricing for the area. They offer popular dishes that cater to a wide audience, so you can take pretty much anyone here and they’ll leave satisfied.

I think the location of the restaurant is the most appealing factor to be honest. It’s right there and easy to spot. The place is rather large too.

They serve the most picturesque French onion soup!

What a gem! Did a Thursday day trip to Newport Mansions and selected Red Parrot based on reviews and photos. For a weekday at 1:30 it was busy but not packed. Much bigger than it looks it has 3 floors with at least 3 bars! Imagine they can handle a crowd! All 3 sandwiches were excellent and they easily accommodated my niece's gluten free requirements! Place looks first class and charming. Staff friendly and efficient!

I’ve been here a few times while visiting Newport and I’m never disappointed! The food is always delicious (particularly the seafood), the drinks are good, and the staff are always friendly. The atmosphere is great with large booths so you don’t have to squeeze too close to your friends and family, and quiet enough to have a conversation at a normal volume with no problem hearing each other. My only criticism is that the drinks are expensive, my co-worker paid $8 for a soda. They disclosed prices for food but not for drinks on the menu.

Came here on a busy weekend in Newport and got seated right away after the main lunch rush. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were huge here! Very happy about coming here and would recommend it to anywhere in the area that’s looking for a spot. Looking forward to coming back next time we’re in the area!

Decided on the Red Parrot after a recommendation from a friend. We were quite happy with that decision. There are many great dining choices in Newport and Red Parrot is now on our top 5 list. Went for lunch and got the Tuna Bowl and Lobster Cheesy Fries. Both were mouthwatering. Next time have to try the Lobster Pizza! The service is good, food comes fast and hot. Great place for families.
