Caring, attentive and knowledgeable. I went to Dr. Thompson for the first time recently after delaying any care for myself for several years. I was expecting a full lecture regarding my lifestyle and general health. I was instead shown genuine compassion and concern. Hers is truly a judgement free zone after avoiding other doctors for most of my life. I later agreed to go to the local hospital which really has saved my life. I’m expecting a happy and healthy future now.

I found Alexandria Family Practice after doing some research on Google. After reading through their many fantastic reviews & visiting in person - they absolutely lived up to their reputation! I went to be treated for what should have been a very minor problem - small sliver of glass in my finger. Not life threatening certainly - but painful and irritating. However, before I found Alexandria Family Practice, I'd visited a local urgent care facility. After an hour of waiting (even though I had an appointment), I was finally seen - only to be told they couldn't help me because the removal of the splinter would require a scalpel, and they didn't have one in their facility (seriously???).
Unsurprisingly the problem subsequently got worse - so I called Alexandria Family practice late one afternoon a few days later and explained my problem. The receptionist went out of her way to accommodate scheduling an appointment for me first thing the next morning. Dr. Thompson saw me immediately after I arrived (I didn't even have time to finish filling out my paperwork!). She listened to my problem, asked detailed questions, explained exactly what she was going to do, and took care of the issue in less than 5 minutes. She also took the time to give very detailed instructions on aftercare.
I honestly can't remember the last time I had such a pleasant, effective, and fast(!) experience when visiting a doctor's office. Given the range of services she provides as a family practice, I will absolutely be a returning patient in the future!

Dr. Thompson is my go-to PCP in the DMV! The office is organized and clean, the front-desk staff (shoutout to Esther!) are always warm and welcoming, and it is super easy to access my patient portal to make appointments with usage of the Healow app! Not to mention, Dr. Thompson is professional, knowledgeable, assuring, and personable- all traits that I look for in a provider. She is also awesome with answering patient questions/messages and sending test results promptly. I love her practice!
