They looked after me. They are helping people. In spite of complaints. Sometimes people have to pray over the gift to stay in touch. No promos needed to bless the poor needy and forgotten. Excellent job Emory Shelter

Good place to donate new and old jeans , slightly used towels and sheets .

Spoke to Louse on the phone earlier today.
Just want to say, he was incredibly helpful, professional, and gave me some really valuable information.
Thank you, Louise !

There is always a time to laugh and make light and there is a time to not. Being homeless is not a joke, especially when you come out of the hospital and you have no where to rest your head at night and it's worse when you're a woman.
I had placed a phone call the other day asking around various shelters to see if they would be able to shelter me for just one night. Which I didn't and still don't see the problem with that. It's bad enough that there aren't enough shelters here in Fairfax and the very few that are available to single adults [women], is quite atrocious. I get it, it costs money and time to make shelters but it's also not fair that there are more beds for men than there are for women. It's obvious where the priority lies in keeping who safe in the world. I'm getting a little ahead and away from the point that I'm trying to make.
Anyway, I had called this shelter and I had asked them if they had any space available and then if they were able to take me in just for one night. First off, the woman that answered the phone was just so disrespectful right off the bat. She did not sound pleasant upon answering the phone and when it came to answering my question, she laughed! I mean she literally LAUGHED and said, "Yeah, we don't have any space for you. Sorry!"
When she said "Sorry!" It was in a very heart wrenching singsong way that made light of my predicament. How is that okay? How do you make light about someone ASKING for shelter? I hope to the Gods and Goddesses above she NEVER has to be put in my position because should that ever happen, I hope she gets the same treatment that she displayed with me; she should be ashamed of how she treated me.

Volunteer staff tries really hard to offer a friendly open safe environment for all however they are absolutely dysfunctional as a whole lots of empty promises and rabbit whole mentality

I donate food to the shelter, everyone is always very sweet and outgoing. If any of you have anything you can donate please do.... And you get a tax cut. WIN/WIN

Clean facility. Support services available. AA meetings on site. Staff present 24/7 to facilitate issues or concerns. Reason I dropped a star is because program is run a bit loose. Staff could tighten up program and help get people back on their feet faster. Too much time sitting around doing nothing but getting in trouble.
