The Chicken Place

This place should be Portuguese ( style ) chicken as is not Portuguese run or cooked. Also way over priced 25$ for a chicken when u can get for 16$ or 17$in any other Portuguese place. U have to wait 1/2 hr for chicken and was dry. Potatoes wore dry over done and salty as hell. Will not return or recommend. The People working wore nice.

This used to be my favourite place for Portuguese chicken up here away from downtown. Now not so much. the quality has gone way down. bland unseasoned chicken, I don't think they even used any piri piri while cooking it. the side pirir piri sauce was not good at all and was a tiny portion. All the staff seems different, Im not sure this place can really be called Portuguese anymore. its just chicken. Maybe I got them on a bad couple of days, maybe the staff was new and training, maybe there could be new owners I don't now. but I cant say it was as good as it once was.

Both my wife and I ordered 1/2 a chicken dinner. One of them is more like a 1/4 chicken. Ordered april 1,2024 uber eats around 2:30 pm. Trying to rip off since I can't check my order? It's already expansive, now this is low.

Very tasty chicken. Huge sides. Amazing potatoes. Good price.

I mean, this place looks dated, but their chicken 🐓… oh man, definitely gotta try for anyone in the area.

IF lucky, pick up the Portuguese egg tart, because they normally sold out.

As a local food critique, i found the food to be well cooked and prepared with a high level of professionalism. I found one of their chicken sandwiches juicy and tender, with fresh bread and well seasoning. Overall this following restaurant meets the basic standards, even going above and beyond.

Imitación Churrasco Chicken, the Chicken itself is pretty good 👍, but the typical sides that comes with the Real Portuguese Churrasquera are all imitation, the rice is not the typical Latin rice, it's Chinese fried rice style, the potatoes have been reheated so many times, you can see the darkened potatoes, fries are OK, the chickpeas salad is OK, but way too heavy on the olive oil.

A pretty solid place for lunch takeout, I recommend the chicken sandwiches. Please be advised that the sandwiches can get very messy, very quickly. It will for sure drip all the juices of the chicken/oil/sauce and WILL stain.

This place gets busy around lunchtime. So be sure to call 10-15 min ahead of arrival to preorder.

Due to the size of the location, you can often see boxes of inventory laying around the front area. It makes the restaurant feel smaller and cluttered. At the moment it doesn’t feel like you can eat inside the restaurant, they have a stand up bar style table which faces the windows.

I got the chicken sandwich which was juicy and dripping, flavour is great and texture as well! I feel like the peri peri sauce should be included with the sandwich on the side.
