As many other shops in the area - nice and kind people, but please bear in mind everything is overpriced. Having said that, you can visit some local stores where locals doing their shopping - reasonable pricing, no tourist traps, etc. You could easily find a 200g of a winter tea for 30lira.

Nestled within the bustling Spice Market of Istanbul, the Galata Spice Shop is an undisputed gem for spice aficionados and culinary adventurers alike. This aromatic haven not only boasts an exceptional array of high-quality spices but also offers an immersive experience that tantalizes all your senses. From the alluring scent of exotic spices to the vibrant colors of saffron and sumac, Galata Spice Shop invites you to explore the world of flavors, with knowledgeable staff ready to guide you through their treasure trove.

But that's not all; the shop's offerings extend beyond spices to include Turkish delights that melt in your mouth, the rich aroma of authentic Turkish coffee, and natural dried fruits and nuts that are perfect for snacking. Additionally, their selection of teas, carefully curated from local sources, adds another layer of delight to your visit. Galata Spice Shop isn't just a shop; it's a sensory journey through the heart of Turkish culinary tradition. A must-visit destination for those seeking to elevate their culinary adventures and bring home a taste of Istanbul's vibrant culture.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff from a well-established purveyor of spices, spice blends, dried fruit and sweets. Prices were reasonable and they were generous with the samples. Everything was well packed for export. We use the spices and blends on a daily basis and they are very tasty.

Scam artists. Avoid. Think they’re clever but just trying to cheat tourists. A shameful business.

A smaller vertion of the grand Bazar. But in my opinion a better looking and a better preserved Bazar. One can find all sort of teas, spices and candies.
