Normans arrived in Leicester in 1066 after battle Hastings
More than 900 yrs old history to have a walk. The castle garden is beautifully maintained. The sliding gate remains are really worth watching.
Surrounding house settlement is add on beauty to look around. River side walk makes your evening calm. A cool mermaid sculpture and lots of swans.

Worth the walk up for the view and to read the information boards. Seats available.
A lovely place filled with history and nature. Perfect place to sit on the grass and relax, or sit on a bench and enjoy the view of De Monfort University. So much history in such a small area, it's absolutely lovely. It's very calming for a place surrounded by city. Please do check it out. The site of the first castle in Leicester!
