Fabulous history in hall. Small doorways so be careful, you can ask for assistance.

Amazing building..and amazing to think that Exeter has had local government since 80 AD when the Romans founded the city as a base for the Augusta second legion.

Please visit this, it’s free and you get a private guide who tells you everything ajout the building. Don’t forget to ask about the monkey. You can even find it in the hall, however currently its covered a bit due to a leaking roof. We see it yourself at Exeter. And don’t forget to find the narrowest street of the world because that’s close by (direction Mc Donalds)

Lovely building, I have walked past it hundreds of times over the years but it was really interesting to be able to go in, it's a bit like a church inside but without the religion really. Just a bit smaller than I thought it would be I guess.

One of the oldest halls of England, dated back to 1160, normand foundation. Perhaps even Saxon. although the structure conserved is medieval between 15th and 16 th century. The oak door is lovely. It still continues to be the city’s council chamber, but not so long ago was the law court. The place is pretty nice. The seats have on top some names: some are majors, other benefactors, and merchants and industries. This hall was very important for the wool industry, because Exeter was one of the dominant cities and has seen lots of history...
The place is usually opened from 10 am to 13 except some days which they have private events. It’s worth a visit.
