Amazing historic museum for all ages, very interactive. My son with autism absolutely loved and learned a lot of interesting facts.

Not a bad option to go with kids. We went only because it was raining heavily and my children enjoyed it. I even learned quite a bit myself!! I do think it is overpriced and it was quite crowded, but it definitely is something to do

Fun for kids. Staff is nice ! A bit old and short to be honest and on the "not cheap" side. But the kids did enjoy it and, on a rainy day, it did the trick!

Great experience! Probably could’ve been a bit cheaper for the amount of entertainment.
But the boat ride is unbeatable!

Such a fun place!
Came here without reading reviews so I had no idea what to expect.
I love how interactive everything is and the boat ride is sooo well done! A great way to learn about the history of Portugal and world expeditions for people of any age.

2 stars is probably being generous. Much much smaller than expected, and very dated… the boat ride especially. It seems like this would have been dope in 1999, but they haven’t maintained the place since. Young kids will enjoy it, but if your an adult looking to kill time on a rainy day, go anywhere else. It’s also way too Expensive for what you get, especially compared to other museums. I have no idea how this museum has over 4 stars. Not trying to be mean, but they could do a much better job of upkeep or simply charge less.

It’s a fun but expensive museum to visit with kids.

It offers information about various ships used during age of discovery, as well as famous explorers and journeys. Plus, how life looked like in those journeys.

It provides the visitor with interactive panels which were great but unfortunately some of them were out of function or weren’t working properly. The info was available in six languages.

At the end there is a small boat trip fun for kids but the queue can be quite long.

Regarding fee, we paid 16€ per person as entrance (adults) and 2€ for audio guide. It was very expensive considering what you are offered.

Great that such museum exists as it’s a milestone in human and Portugal’s history. However, the museum could be expanded much more to cover other various aspects of that age, such as background, how/why it started, how it ended, legacy and artifacts.
