It's only open 3 days a week, from Tuesday to Thursday, I guess from 9 or 10 am to I guess 4 pm
The Mahmoud Said Museum, located in Alexandria, Egypt, is dedicated to the renowned Egyptian artist Mahmoud Said. Amazing museums (there are three!). I only wish there were postcards or catalogues to know more information about the artists featured and to also as a souvenir of the lovely paintings exhibited.
If you are fond of art and love paintings then this is a must visit. The paintings look very real.
Very good collection of paintings
Loved visiting this museum, which is actually 3 museums in 1, all inside the family residence of Mahmoud Said. The ground floor is dedicated to Mahmoud’s works & personal belongings, the upper floor is dedicated to Adham & Seif Wanly, and the basement is all about Modern Egyptian Art.
And in all 3 sections you’ll find beautiful artwork that’s breathtaking. You might need to go more than once. The only downside is that there’s no seating at all throughout the museum so if you want to take your time with looking at the paintings, it can be tiresome. And it isn’t accessible to wheelchair users unfortunately. Otherwise the staff are very friendly and passionate about the museum, don’t hesitate to approach them for more info.
