Wheaton plaza is just one of those things that you kind of have to tolerate if you live in the area.
It seems like no matter how hard they try, the parking lots and traffic are just rough, but as long as you take your time, you can navigate.

A classic style mall anchored by Costco, Macy's and Target. Has pretty much everything you need from sporting goods to shoes, and even novelty stores. Decent food court. Not the best maintained ball, a little rundown, but there is a good variety of shops.

They added a significant amount of accessible spaces at entry points - very important considering the mall entry and exit points have decreased over the years. Thank you for keeping us safe!

More security needed here. Panhandlers & beggars always in the food court. Stores robbed and people assaulted & robbed lately. Wheaton is getting scary.
I routinely go to Costco every week and Giant once a while. The security of that area had gone down the drain. They're robberies, car jacks, theft, assaults and all kinds of criminal activities there. Last week I just witnessed someone take off running with a large stolen box from Costco across the parking lot. It's bad there.
Went to Joann Fabrics and Crafts after medical appointment. Never been to this location before. Much bigger than Gaithersburg store, but was more out of stock of Gildan T-shirts in my size. Got some yarn.
Spent the afternoon here while I waited for some installations at best buy - which is across the street. Got my fitbit some action and made 13K steps- oh yeah!! LOL
Totally love this mall. It has all my fav stores and so much delicious eateries. The exterior around some of the stores are under construction but you'd never know that with all the buzz inside the mall. There are lots of not so familiar stores with really great buys.
There is a cute play area for the kids, along with a photo stop where you can feel like you're either at the beach (fake the vacation photo lol) or chilling on an island somewhere. Plus the bonus for the kids is there is a locomotive (train) that they can ride around the mall for a reasonable price.
It wasn't too crowded, even at the food Court folks were well spaced and you felt comfortable. But of course we wore our masks at ALL times.
Oh...there is even a Costco and Target- accessible from the inside of the mall.
Definitely visit!!
