The caves were great, walk up the gorge was fabulous, and Jacobs ladder (stairs) and the walk around the top awesome.
Apart from the 70s brutal concrete entrance, cafe and shop, there's an interesting walk though a cave behind. £22.50 per person gets you into the main cave, Cox's Cave, Jacobs Ladder steps and lookout tower, and the small prehistoric exhibition. No discounts for seniors, only Longleat members. Very good audio guide gadgets. Just point them at a sign and it tells you about the part you are in. Natural surroundings, no coloured led lights like a some we've been to, some artefacts and mannequin displays. Very interesting.
Good views, some steep parts depending on the way you go, also after moderate rain its quite muddy/slippery.
Beautiful place worth a visit, but sadly ruined by boy racers and litter.we collected a lot while walking.
Absolutely stunning drive down through the gorge, places to pull in to take in the vast gorge. Parking closer to the town are okay and display. This gorge is the largest in England. Great place to walk and explore.
Highly recommended.
Highly recommended.
Städtchen ist völlig überlaufen und nicht sehenswert.
Caves waren ausgebucht, kann ich nicht beurteilen.
Gorge Walk bei Regen nicht empfehlenswert, da sehr rutschig.

I last visited here as a kid of about 9/10 years old, now bringing my son at the same age, I was pleased to discover that it was every bit as stunning and impressive as it was in my mind all those years ago. The caves, especially Gough’s cave, is really impressive, you get to wander around at your own pace with a handset to scan at information points. Cox’s cage is slightly different with a mini voice over tour making you think about the cave people all those years ago, how they survived and how they became hunters and not the hunted. The views are spectacular and there is a viewpoint right at the top of the steps, up Jacob’s ladder should you wish to venture that high. There are plenty of shops, gift places and food places, toilets and snack stops. Another place worth visiting, only downside is, if you visit as a family, they don’t actually do family tickets, it’s pay per person, children are cheaper than adults though.
