After years of researching numerous senior housing options for myself, spring '23 I began my due diligence of The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg, MD near Rio and Crown shopping, theater, restaurants and residences. My meetings with Sam Martin were so helpful and questions were answered quickly. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to become a founding member. My apartment is reserved and move in is summer '24. Once I reside at The Carnegie, I will no longer be isolated. I can build new friendships, enjoy endless social events, field trips, travel, wellness programs, salt water pool, 5 star dining, 24-hour secure building, tech support, valet parking, housekeeping, included utilities, maintenance, no property tax payments...amenities are endless! A special THANK YOU to all of the warm and caring Carnegie team under the leadership of General Manager Jennifer Pastora.

The entire staff at The Carnegie have been welcoming and helpful every step of the way. They made a difficult decision for my family much easier. Can't say thank you enough!

I looked at seven different independent living facilities in Montgomery County with my mom and we picked the Carnegie! From the first day we visited their office in April through today Sam Martin had been incredibly helpful! She’s knowledgeable, friendly, and very responsive! The Carnegie is going to be a fantastic facility! It has all of the amenities she was looking for as well as being ideally located just across the street from the Crown and Rio shopping areas.
My mom is really excited about moving in!

We’ve had the best interactions with Sam and the staff at the Carnegie. Everyone is knowledgeable, welcoming and truly working toward creating an all-around community experience.

I have never left a Google review before, but The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center is an exceptional place, so I feel compelled to tell people about it. The Carnegie is a senior living community that offers luxury amenities comparable to those of a five-star hotel: fine dining, fitness center, saltwater pool, valet parking, beauty salon, housekeeping, linen service, 24-hr security, etc. I could list all the perks, but it would take too long. Let me just say, they thought of everything! What struck me was how they addressed issues that other places should have thought of… but didn’t. The Carnegie offers a “Tech Concierge” to assist residents with computer/tablet/cellphone problems. The Carnegie also offers a fleet of company cars that residents can reserve for private use. This way, residents who don’t drive won’t need to rely on friends, relatives, or Uber to take them to medical appts or whatnot. These types of amenities impress me a great deal. They really make the lives of residents easier. FYI, I researched several senior communities in the area; for comparable $, you will get the BEST bang for your buck here, by a long shot. Location is excellent too. Shopping, restaurants and movie theater is a five-minute drive, if that. The office staff (I spoke with Jen and Malinda) are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Big Step! Big Move! Decided in summer 2022 to retire and relocate back to Maryland in 2024. Did due diligence on various living options from Gaithersburg to Chevy Chase. The Carnegie popped to the top, checking all the boxes…….new, contemporary; layout/floorplans; location; amenities; offerings; expanding partnerships; easy access to shopping, cultural/educational activities, I-270 and highways; healthcare. Have had many friends move to retirement communities and I had many questions. Jennifer, Jen and Courtney have been great and open to requests for information. I will miss the spectacular Pacific Northwest and the views from my Seattle high-rise condo. But, it’ll be wonderful to be near family. Looking forward to my new home at The Carnegie. It'll be exciting.

I was so intrigued by their business model, the amazing location next to the Rio Washingtonian Center, the knowledgeable and energetic staff and the beautiful concept of the entire facility. I have already been to an intergenerational book club meeting, several of their get-togethers and signed up to learn Mahjong. The Carnegie offers more than I could have imagined: including a focus on the arts, community, education, health and wellness plus so many amenities. I am very excited to be a part of this new venture.
