Our daughter’s band and another peer band were to play at CineCycle.

The bands advertised their gig, had about 100 people confirmed to come. They then heard rumours that the venue was shuttered for fire code violations.

The venue promoter told them that no, the show was still on, confirmed their booking and took their money ($400 paid by the other band)

After renting equipment on the day, they arrive to set up and for sound check to discover that CineCycle was in fact shut due to fire code violations. (Shout out to Long and McQuade for refunding the money for the rental equipment that they were able to immediately return!)

They learned that the promoter had been fired as well. It took some time but the other band did get their money back.

My daughter’s band Bouquet the band on IG and the other band BeBe & Oona. Give these girl bands a follow and support young talent!

Beware of scammers and those who take advantage!

Very funky and unique space.

Rustic, but worn down so don't expect something spotless.

Went for a DJ event and they had the heat on, everyone was sweaty and disgusting. It smelled horrible in there and my glasses fogged up from how warm it was, not sure who thought the heat being on was a good idea for an event where people are dancing.

One of Toronto's hidden gems. If you're a film buff and want to explore Toronto's underground film culture this is your first stop. Martin is the kindest man who has ever lived. Go talk to him and enjoy his presence

Fantastic space with exposed brick walls and a bar stocking decent beer and wine. Fantastic gathering for the cinematically inclined. Nice preserve of the old underground vibe of the neighbourhood.

Very enjoyable space for a private screening .... Highly recommended! 😀

I have attended, hosted and loved CineCycle for well over 20 years. Martin has been supporting many diverse groups and provided a safe space for all guests.
