Very interesting tour around the Birminghams canals and city center. It takes about two hours, mr Jonathan Berg got nice sense of humour and I recommend it for everyone :-)
We booked a private tour with Jonathan (2 people) when visiting Birmingham in December 2023 (From the US). It was a completely fantastic experience as Jonathan is knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the city of Birmingham. He provided listening devices that allowed us to walk and talk and hear all the great things about the City of Birmingham. He tailored a walk that shared the importance of the canals and Jewelry Quarter as well as showing numerous historical buildings and Birmingham's public art. The next time we are in Birmingham (and there will be a next time), we will book another tour!
My wife and I did the Jewellery Quarter tour. The tour guide Jonathan was excellent and made the walk an absolute joy from start to finish with his great knowledge of Birmingham and fun demeanour of relaying the information to the group. An excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon I would recommend to all.
I absolutely had an amazing experience! Jonathan was super knowledgeable and patient. I'm so glad to take this tour. I've already booked my other tours with them 😍 P.S. Jonathan has amazing Brum books!
Absolutely fantastic. We visited Birmingham with a group of 60 students. We had a fantastic evening tour of the local sights and landmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Jonathan is a superb guide. We were 5 hours late beacause of the accident on the Motorway, he tailored our itinerary to make us feel comfortable and to make the most out of the visit. You will not find a better guide in Birmingham. You also get a complimentary audioguide and a guide book written by Jonathan.
I found the tour good but not great. Our guide told us all about the surrounding buildings and the current businesses and retails. Much less was said about the history and development of this city or the iconic buildings or the great people who made infleunce. I am not personally interested in the newer concrete buildings nor the recently opened fashion stores. The guide was nice, polite and took good care of the every member of the group. The walk was not difficult with many stops in the way
The BEST kind of Tour!
This is no snoozey kind of tour that is overloaded with boring history.
Jonathan shares stories of old and new with humour and passion. He is the best tour guide retelling the history of Birmingham in the most refreshing way. Full of fun facts and real history knowledge - the best tour I've ever been on!
We were provided devices that meant we could plug in headphones and listen to the guide very clearly the whole way through and not miss a nugget of knowledge or funny tale. I used a pair of earphones from the tour and can recommend them too should you need them!
What else can I say! I wasn't bored at any point and genuinely found myself learning the history of Birmingham in the funnest way. I would have stayed longer! Johnathan obviously had a lot of knowledge on the city!
The perfect time to spend an hour, learning about of one of my favourite places to be in Birmingham and even some inspiring information on the industrial side to the city.
With so many new developments in Birmingham is was a treasure to be told the tales of the old whilst stood in the new and really helped me appreciate the development that Birmingham has had and is having.
