DoubleTree by Hilton Poughkeepsie

It was cold on this trip. The heating system was either too hot or very cold.
One night, it was 69 degrees in our room.
There were no service personnel on that night. It was freezing. At least they brought a blanket.
The tub was also evaluated very slick,
Housekeeping was kinda discombobulated.
The hotel was clean. The staff was nice. When the restaurant was opened, the staff was friendly.

I only ate in the bar/restaurant a week ago since there was a comedy show right next door in the Civic Center. The bartender didn’t know what she was doing and neither did the cook. I ordered a lemon drop martini and was given straight vodka with sugar and a piece of lemon on the rim, my boyfriend ordered a gin & tonic and not once but twice was given gin & seltzer. Now for the food…….the steaks were all week done when we requested medium rare, no truffle fries, the burgers were also well done and tasted like cardboard and finally we were given an $18 crab cake that was the size of a 1/2 dollar. I tried calling numerous times and each time was told a manager was unavailable. I even left a voicemail but no call back. Very disappointed and would like someone to contact me.

I recently stayed here with my husband while in town visiting friends, and we absolutely loved our stay! All of the staff that we encountered-from front desk to housekeeping-were wonderful! Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The room itself was newly renovated and beautiful-we loved the modern decor and colors! The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve experienced at a hotel and the bathroom was just lovely with plenty of mirrors and lighting. We were also impressed by how clean everything was-from the lobby to the room, everything was impeccable. We can’t wait to come back to visit again!

As a Hilton Honors member for over a decade this is has been one of my favorite hotels. The staff was fantastic! Everyone had a smile, pleasant tone, and informative. The newly renovated rooms were phenomenal. If I could I would take the mattress and pillows home I would, they were so comfortable. The bathroom had fantastic lighting and shower had great water pressure, the built in toiletries was a nice touch. The hotel had everything you could ask for especially comfort and quiet. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to others and will be returning soon!
