I was very happy to have a beautiful space to enjoy a cocktail with my book in this speakeasy. I was recommended their version of the Negroni and the presentation was just as good as the drink itself. This would be a great place for a date.
It’s hard to find a bar that makes really good cocktails and even rarer to find one that does that consistently. Bar Mokum achieves both beautifully. The drinks are perfectly prepared and creatively delivered. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is inviting. Eira and Emma are world class mixologists and expertly guide you through the selection. If you are adventurous then just let me close for you or better yet create something different and special.
It is a little hidden and down a flight of stairs which adds to its mystique. Journey down the stairs and enjoy.

Found this really cool, hidden cocktail bar (speakeasy style). Had some cocktails which were really good.

Behind an unmarked door and down the stairs is this cool little cocktail bar! Such an amazing place that we went twice on our trip. Great selection of drinks to choose from and snack options! The service there is even better with a skilled bartender! A great place to relax and bring a date!
This was my kind of place, can't say enough good things about this bar. It's hidden down some stairs behind a practically blank door, so use the street numbers to find your way.
All of the cocktails that I had were amazing. They have their own takes on some classics but can also whip you up anything that comes to mind. Also all cocktails are 14 Euro which I just found refreshing and easy going.
The vibe is cool and relaxed, it can feel like an intimate date spot or even a neighborhood pub depending on what you are looking for. The bar tenders are friendly, welcoming, and know their stuff. And most importantly it's not too loud, it's just right in so many ways.

This is a very cool speakeasy bar in a great neighbourhood in Amsterdam. The cocktails are not cheap, at 14€ a pop, but they are well worth it!
Both of our cocktails were boozy and extremely tasty. The Mai Thai style one, served in a cute monkey cup, was absolutely delicious and seemed to never end.
Personally, I loved the old fashioned style cocktail, which features smoked peat, and is served to you in a wooden box which, upon opening, smoke billows out. It embues the cocktail with a beautiful smokiness. I’m just sad I didn’t know it was coming, otherwise I would have got it in video.
