I loved the chicken. As a woman. I didn't feel welcomed or safe. The woman taking the order slammed the take out window after I said thank you.
The chicken was tender and juicy inside and you can taste the mezquite flavor on the outside, as soon as I arrived they serve me a bowl of soup ( tasted like home ) they had fresh water, lemon with cucumber , I order this new dish called “ Machete “ it’s a long quesadilla made from scratch , half a meter long ! With a special cut called suadero , delicious , so flavorful , and the service was excellent , this is the first restaurant that does not accept tips , so they can give the same good service to everyone . I found this fantastic restaurant n this days that all restaurants are making the tips obligatory . Thanks I highly recommend this place

The staff was super welcoming, and our server went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. The food was top notch for a great price! Definitely a hidden gem in Omaha! Will definitely be back.

Loved it. I was really happy to get sopa de fideos soon after we were seated. It was so yummy and welcoming! I ordered fried plantains and they were cooked to perfection. Chef's kiss. I ordered the chicken taquitos for my entree. They were good but I found the chicken inside was a bit overcooked. The service was great. Kind, unassuming servers. When we got there, there was no music on which I was happy with. But about halfway through our meal they turned it on. It was great music it was just a tad too loud. Looking forward to going back.

I waited 15 minutes in the drive through, and I was the only car in line. They asked me if I wanted spicy sauce, I said no. But when I got home and took a bite of my burrito - it was way too spicy to eat. I had to put it in the trash. So if you love spice, and you've got lots of time, this might be an okay place for you.

Wow, just wow. El Pollo Tote is one of those hidden treasures of Omaha. The city has its fried and grilled chicken joints all around, but this place is different, this food is something special.

I ordered out and got the standard chicken platter with two sides. The succulent chicken was savory and blanketed in flavorful spices. The aroma was smoky and the adobo penetrated the meat well, so every bite was delightful. The slight smokiness elevated the flavor of the meat. The chicken was juicy and tender. Quite honestly, nothing compares to the flavor here, its so good it should be illegal.

The refried beans had so much delicious flavor that paired well with the rice, which was also perfectly seasoned. Additionally, I ordered the cucumber water and was very impressed with how refreshing it was. It paired well with the dish. This meal was fit for anyone venturing for new flavors.

What keeps me from rating this joint a 5 is the ambiance and slightly disfunctional service. I was slightly confused as to the restaurant's identity. I come in expecting a full on chicken joint but walk in and see what feels like a half night club, half bar, half restaurant. I think this place is still trying to find its identity, but it should quite honestly focus on the food because that's what is going to keep me coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant to all you foodies out there, it was well worth it's price.

Ordered an assortment of food, hey were helpful at deciding what to get, friendly while we took our time, and accurate with the food we ordered. I'm not sure what the sauces are made with, but they're delicious. Food is seasoned well enough that you don't need sauce, but the sauce is good enough you want to add it.
