Incredibly disappointed in my experience with Coast throughout the almost year I have lived here. The location is amazing and Lakeshore East is a great neighborhood. HOWEVER that does not make up for how bad this building and its management is. The apartments have super dated appliances that are constantly breaking, the window insulation is so bad that your floors are dripping wet in the wintertime and you have no control over when the building turns on the AC so in the Spring, Summer and sometimes Fall the apartments get up to 80+ degrees inside with management saying they "have no idea" when it will turn back on. The leasing office staff is USELESS and unhelpful, there are constantly cars getting broken into in the garage and there are not enough elevators for how many people live in this building. The bright points of the building are the wonderful front desk and maintenance staff and the view but that's it. For how much you pay it is not worth it. AVOID COAST AT ALL COSTS

*Garage Security is an Issue* Current resident since 2022. Generally, the price point and the product do not align. Great views but the finishes of the apartments are below average and the parking garage is overpriced when considering the monthly fee and the inevitable cost of repairing broken window(s) or stolen items. I was willing to overlook the finishes but the recent garage issues are too much.
I can confirm the review below regarding garage security. The Coast switched to ABM a while back and it has been an awful experience. Monthly parking fees increased and the general service from ABM has been poor. I would consider this an ABM issue but Morgaurd/the Coast contract with ABM and continue to accept ABM's poor service.
We've been receiving emails from management about garage security and an increase in break-ins, stolen cars, broken windows, etc. The solution was to limit parking to monthly parkers and close the garage door, I guess in effort to ensure no one can walk down the ramp. Yet, anyone can still walk in from the pedway given there is no access management at those doors.
I was lucky enough to have my window broken recently and the contents of my car emptied onto the seats and floor.
Keep in mind we pay $270+ every month for parking (more if you have a reserved spot). This only ensures that ABM and the Coast "maximize parking revenue", not the security of your property. So, this month, I get to pay $700+ ($270 + broken glass repair) to park here. No help from ABM or the coast beyond the generic response: "we're increasing security" and "we understand your frustration".
Don't get me wrong, the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, being friendly is not enough to overcome poor results and their failure to secure the garage among other issues. At the end of the day, you can probably find something for less that offers more. I still have time on my lease, and I may amend this review if things change but I'm not holding my breath.

Once again more cars stolen more Break-ins
Us residents are Extremely frustrated by the lack of concern by management,
Me and several tenants have plan a meeting to see how coast and ABM can be Held accountable for the lack of security and safety we have. tenants are very scared to walk there dogs on 5th floor everybody fear for their life at this point hopefully after our meeting and reaching out to news and lawyers the coast and ABM will be held accountable for the safety of there tenants

YOUR CAR WILL BE STOLEN IF YOU MOVE HERE! My girlfriend lives here and in the past 3 months she has had her car stolen, and then broken into twice. Most recently three cars were broken into on the same night and when she talked to one of the other car owners he said it was the second time for him in the garage. Broken car windows are a pretty regular sight in the garage which is ridiculous for a supposedly nice building in downtown. She has asked to be released from her lease as they refuse to change anything such as hiring some security guards to monitor the garage, and she quite frankly does not feel safe. The management have refused to allow her out of her lease. This place is a joke and if you value your property and your safety do not move here.
Edit: I’m editing to respond to the property’s initial response. To be clear, it has been months since the first incident and only after the third break in was “immediate” action taken. The actions they describe are clearly inadequate and are nothing but window dressing. There is no security here and as I said before your car will be stolen or broken into if you move here. My gf has been in communication with them and they are not committing to doing anything substantial to ensure her safety and protect her property. Again, if you value your safety live somewhere else.
Additional Update: Car thefts and break-ins continue non-stop. The property has increased patrols which consists of a security car sitting outside the entrance to the garage during the day time (not night, when thefts and break-ins occur) for a few extra minutes. We have yet to see a security guard actually in the garage ever. The garage connects to other garages and the pedway, so people’s property is in no way safer. We can’t wait to leave in a few months. Unless you don’t own a car, live somewhere else

I’ve lived here for 6 months so it’s time for my review. This is all you need to know:
**update 2/14 - is said one below con was that my shower doesn’t always get hot. I didn’t realize it was a simple maintenance request to fix - and now it’s perfect.
PROS
-Staff. I can’t say enough how awesome these people are. Truly. They are the customer facing folks and dam are they great at what they do. I am always happy when I see and chat with them. Kudos. This is my first point for a reason.
-Gym is perfect. It’s everything you need. Toss that gym membership baby.
-Grills and pool are cool. 2nd floor amenities are great!
-Location. Almost perfect. Seriously, it’s hard to beat it. Feels like an oasis within the city. Close to so so much. Grocery store - like a 7 min walk. Same to get to the lake and Michigan ave, ever faster to the river.
-Shout out Sara in the management office. She’s a strong communicator, professional, patient, and super helpful. I’m grateful for her and she’s made a positive impact on my experience and has put up with my dumb questions and complaints like a champ. She rocks! If you move here, just be respectful to her time and try to resolve issues using the right channels - resident portal for maintenance requests, etc.
-I have never had a poor interaction with another resident. Some are more friendly than others, and no one has been rude so far. Made some new friends here too.
-Airflow is strong with great ventilation. Das guuci.
-Pricilla is a good sales rep, informative, detailed, affable, and she inspired me to sign.
-Great sound proofing compared to what's out there.
-Living space is great - I have a studio and honestly it's fine. This was my biggest concern, only lived in one bedrooms or bigger. For one person, it's everything I need and not too small.
--There's more, but you get the gist - it's pretty great.
CONS
-I dislike that I can’t turn on the AC after summer or whenever they switch it to heat. I am south facing and WFH. The sun can blasts in. Good for Zoom lighting. But it can get hot esp. in the fall during daytime when it’s that transition period but they’ve already turned off the AC. I think I saw it get to like 78 one time. To be fair, this complaint is common across high rise apartments in Chicago.
-Occasionally Lyft and Uber and DoorDash drivers get lost in lower Wacker lol.
Overall, this is a fantastic place to live and I feel lucky I choose this spot. I looked at many many places before committing and glad it's worked out so well.

If you’re looking for downtown high-rise living with amazing views in an incredible location, then welcome home to Coast. The units are spacious and this building is one of the few in Chicago with an actual balcony. Waking up and seeing the Bean from the balcony is truly a sight to behold!
The building is literally in the heart of the city and I would highly recommend it if you’re moving to Chicago for the first time. Just being able to walk to Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, etc is so convenient. I travel a lot for work and every time I come home I gain a sense of appreciation of how amazing the location is.
However, the best part of the building is the community and the staff. They truly care about the residents and everyone knows each other by name. Jennifer, Jay, Mokie, Priscilla, Kelsey, all the maintenance workers, front desk, they all truly make you feel at home. 5 Stars.

Have been living here for a year now. Management and support staff have been great. The community is friendly too. North Facing views are amazing. One thing I hope to see in the near future is some upgrades to the refrigerator & W/D.
