Embark on a feathered journey at the McNeil Avian Center in the Philadelphia Zoo, where the air is alive with the songs and colors of exotic birds! Opened in 2009, this $17.5-million sanctuary is a paradise for bird lovers, offering walk-through habitats that bring you face-to-face with over 100 stunning avian species from across the globe1. Whether you’re watching a live cam of the rainforest habitat or learning about avian conservation behind the scenes, the McNeil Avian Center is a place where curiosity takes flight and the wonders of the bird world are revealed in all their splendor! 🦜🌴

I've been visiting the zoo frequently, and I used to skip the McNeil Avian Center building, but I won't make that mistake again!

Love the avian center. So many kinds of birds....just don't go in here on a hot day...you'll sweat! Lol. Also, it cann get rather loud, so if you are sensitive to bird sounds, you might want to carry ear plugs...especially if the hornbills are being feisty. Lol

Small but beautiful habitat with many different types of birds. It's a nice experience to walk through.
