After our second class, the owner told my wife and 6 year old daughter that she was immature right in front of her, and would need to go to the level below her age group. That took us off guard, as our daughter is not disruptive, and seeing as the owner hadn't directly observed her from the classroom. The owner pointed out that our daughter was not causing any problems, but that she was just shy and not very cooperative. We thought this over for a while, and politely explained that our daughter is typically shy in unfamiliar situations, but we've repeatedly seen her succeed once she comes out of her shell. We requested that she stay at her level at least for another week or two to give her that chance. We let the owner know that we're aware of her challenges, we know how to work with her so that she can succeed, and we kindly mentioned that the "immature" comment was not appreciated.

To our surprise, the owner not only refused to allow her to continue in her class, but she refused to acknowledge calling our daughter immature.

We took our daughter to a different dance school, and she's done great since.

This is getting two stars instead of one because they offered to refund us. Our experience was brief, but I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending it.

My daughters have taken lessons at NDC basically since they could walk....they are 10 and 12 years old now. They still love NDC and want to continue to take dance for the absolute joy of it.

We have loved our last 5 years at NDC. The staff is friendly and I love how little girls look and act like little girls here.
