Move The Beat

We used move the beat for our first dance and everything went beautifully! Natalie worked with us to choreograph a Bollywood fusion first dance that left our guests speechless! Natalie is so patient and talented and the dance practices were a great break from all the wedding planning stress. Highly recommend!

I attended the Winter show today and I was amazed! I was there to see the kids hip hop and loved it. I was even more inspired by the adult performances! Watching adults move from their comfort zones and do something new was just wonderful! You can tell this is a space of empowerment, inspiration and fun! Really amazing!

I would give them 100 stars if I could! I was looking for a dance studio to help come up with our first dance for our wedding. We tried another studio in the area and we were very disappointed until we found Move The Beat. They are reaonably priced and amazing to work with. Natalie came up with our entire first dance and really listened to what we wanted. I was so amazed at her talent and ability to teach us who have never danced before. Everyone at our wedding was amazing at how well we did. Amanda also led one of our sessions and was amazing to work with as well, pointing out improvements and tweaks. I would recommend this dance studio to anyone! They are so amazing to work with and you have fun doing it.

Move the Beat is a fantastic, welcoming, an energetic and friendly dance studio that is worth a trip even if you're in the city. We worked with Natalie and Krystal to learn a choreographed tango for our first dance at our wedding and they were so full of enthusiasm and warmth all throughout that we knew we were at the best place to create something special and memorable.

We were looking for a location primarily in Chicago to learn a choreographed wedding dance just a month out from the special day. Due to the time constraint, most places were skeptical or only wanted to teach the basics. We were referred to Natalie and from the first introduction, you can tell she would not only be fun but also invested in your success and confidence when it comes to the performance.

At times, it also felt like a collaboration as Natalie was always open to incorporating our ideas and also didn't shy from challenging us to go bigger with moves we might not have considered but she believed we could accomplish. We switched to working with Krystal midway as Natalie recovered from a broken ankle (but who still showed up!) and it was a seamless transition. We also got extra practice time thanks to Natalie's husband, who also helped capture video, opening the studio while there was a winter storm. There are not enough compliments to give the Move the Beat family for how personable and genuine they all are.

Come wedding day, we felt prepared, comfortable and excited to dance thanks to the creativity and instruction from Move the Beat. Their ability to break down, encourage, fine-tune and guide you through everything was natural and great. Well worth the visit from the city!

I never been somewhere where I was so ready and inspired to move to the beat. Everyone was so welcoming and open minded about every interested I had. The availability and classes offered are for children and adults which is a great benefit for my family. Thank you for having me tonight I had a blast and can’t wait to explore more classes!
