Philinos Restaurant

We came to Philinos Restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy so, we were lucky that we had a reservation. We ordered an assortment of appetizers and main dishes. Overall, the food was very good for an “old school” Greek restaurant. The atmosphere reflects that “classic” era but, it was very lively. The staff was very diligent even though there was a large party taking most of their attention.

Without a doubt, Philinos is the best Greek restaurant in Montreal. My wife who is Greek and a connaiseur of fine Greek food was overwhelmed with the delicious servings. If you are in Montreal this restuarant is not to be missed not only for it's meals but its friendly, courteous and professional service provided by Harry and Alexander. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.

We visited Philinos for dinner while visiting family in Montreal. The food was as close to Greek traditional food as possible (not the usual North American Greek food that many "Greek" restaurants have). Amazing dishes with fresh ingredients and great taste. Good selection of Greek wines too. Our server really enhanced the dinner experience by providing impeccable service.
Do not miss the opportunity to have lunch / dinner there if you visit the area.

This place was very very good. I would 100% recommend getting the octopus if you want to indulge yourself. The moussaka and the souvlaki were incredible as well. Our server was nice and checked in on us often (but not too much). Overall an easy recommend.

Best authentic Greek food. Philinos feels like home, just like those dinners with your grandparents.
The fried zucchini and calamari are hard to beat. We tried the lamb, salmon, sea bass and moussaka. They were all exceptional. The waiter suggested a fine chardonnay that paired very well with our meal, couldn't ask for anything more perfect.

So much delicious wine (Sauvignon Blanc) in one glass! Loved the coziness and vitrail decorations. Feel like you are back in time when the food was good and the portions are good enough to feed a big man but also healthy type of food. I recommend for lunch and diner
