The owner did manage to fit us in when having mechanical issues, which was appreciated. However, we found it extremely expensive compared to neighbouring marinas. Additionally, our slip was on the outside which was the nearest spot to the BC Ferry, so we rocked early morning to late at night. We were stranded due to mechanical issues but told we could only stay the one night, however, our mechanic was able to change the owner's mind. Garbage collection was available at seemingly no cost, however, after we took a bowl of ice, a sign was posted the next day that ice was a $10 charge. $10! At that point, we purchased ice from Shoppers, which was a 5 minute walk. Unfortunately, we had no other options to dock.

Very expensive. I bought rain jacket there same price as Hardy fuel dock .not impressed

Going on my 3rd year mooring at Coast Marina, i run my charter business out of Coast. Coast Marina is centraly located, it has the cleanest washrooms, free paved parking, wifi, and the highest level of matenance in the area. The owners are on top of any issues that arise, i cannot think of one thing to complain about. All around, i have had a very good experience mooring at Coast, highly recomended.

BEWARE NO CANCELLATIONS NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please note that the Marina and the hotel are now separate businesses. This review is specifically for the MARINA.
This summer I desperately needed moorage in CR to visit a friend who had suddenly landed in the hospital. I usually stay at Discovery Harbor Marina when in CR, but they were full up since I called on short notice. I called this guy and reserved 5 days which cost almost $500. Shortly after making the reservation the situation changed dramatically and I no longer needed the moorage. So, I called less than 1 hr 40 minutes later to cancel. His response was "we do so many reservations that we don't have time to process cancellations." What?? According to my credit card company he had not even charged my card yet so all he had to do was not charge the card. I tried reaching him repeatedly to discuss this further with him and he kept avoiding me over the next several days. Finally sent me a text saying that they had a NO REFUND POLICY with NO EXCEPTIONS. This is not listed on their website or anywhere else I can find. In any case, I kindly asked him to consider refunding my payment. He refused to do so after numerous texts back and forth.
Finally, I gave up and called my credit card company and disputed the charge. After 3 months and several attempts on his part to rebut my dispute it was finally resolved in my favor. But, not after great effort on his part to keep my money.
So, if you're going to stay here beware that if your circumstances change for any reason whatsoever (change of plans, weather, mechanical breakdown, etc) he's going to try very hard to keep your money. Doesn't really seem like the kind of biz that is based upon meeting customer needs and garnering customer loyalty, good will, and word of mouth. Rather, they're gonna try to keep your money whether they've earned it or not.
I have stayed many times at Discovery Harbor Marina over the last 20 years and had wonderful experiences there. They are very polite, helpful, and flexible. They usually send a couple of guys to help you dock and they offer to take your garbage after you're tied up. I'd highly recommend them over this place.
ALSO, note that the same owner owns Seascape Waterfront Resort Quadra Island with the same no refund policy. One of my 5 nights was actually booked at this place and he would not refund that portion either.
