Langata Botanical Gardens

We visited because we saw the publicity claiming these were the best gardens in Nairobi. However, we genuinely thought this was the worst visit in our 5-week stay. It may be the ideal venue for weddings, birthdays, etc. but if you're looking for a peaceful walk in a Kenyan botanical garden don't go here. We visited early in the week after there had obviously been a number of weekend parties and the staff were busy clearing up the various post-party rubbish sites. The lake could only be seen through a wire fence and could not be walked around. The different garden areas looked awful and the cafe offered very little choice. We had originally intended to stay for two hours but left after only 30 minutes, confused and thankful that we had put this visit behind us.

Loved the place, very serene for private functions and very delicious food. One pointer though, kindly work on the toilet near the gazebos.

Loved the nature, trees, grass, expansive grounds for your event yet offering privacy from others parties since they have a number of grounds and bandas within their property. They organise catering, tent, tables, chairs and basic decor...such a huge relief to have a one stop shop. Everything was as I requested, no corkage fee even though you can carry your own drinks. We had a good time and really enjoyed the grounds since we had games. The food was delicious, only the portions per person should be increased for the buffet. It felt like they were really rationing on the portions while serving. At night, they have flood lights and allowed us to enjoy our music till 10 or 11. I'd also thank them for providing any item we requested.
All in all I would recommend

The place is cool and in a serene place. Perfect for outdoor activities, meeting events and retreats. Make an effort to visit

Tasty food with great green ambience. Drinks are rather pricey. The staff is very polite and hospitable. Good venue for weddings and hanging out with large groups. Closes early by around 7PM.

Very serene place, with beautiful nature, to hang out for some quiet quality time.
Awesome for weddings and functions. They have old field for that. A nature photo shoot could also work pretty well here...
