I have been here for ~1 month so far and I will update this review as I live here longer.
Pros:
- Amenities are good. So far, I have used the gym and movie theater and both have been good.
- Door men and janitors are friendly.
- Good location. Close to food, groceries, and trains.
Neutral:
- $70/month "utilities" fee. It's in the lease, so I was not surprised but I don't think other luxury apartments have this.
- Electricity seems expensive. It's the summer so it might be higher than normal, but our bill is ~$400/month. I'm assuming it's a combination of poor insulation and electric water tanks.
Cons:
- My A/C broke while NYC was in a heat wave and it was 90+ degrees out. Took Halo about 3 weeks to fix it after a lot of emails.

What the apartment complex considers “move in ready” Luxury

Booked a tour with them and no one showed up. I called, texted and sent emails, got nothing in reply. They never followed up after. There was a broker from the same company but he said that he couldn't help or show the building because it would cause conflict. Annoying, would have liked to see the building but if you're going to pay two months rent as a broker's fee, should have a decent broker at least.

I lived here about 5 years ago with my friend in a two bedroom apartment (a third person was supposed to be involved but that fell through after the lease was already in place yikes) This was a hassle to get to by car or even to get dropped off by a taxi or uber, I don’t know if that’s changed since I lived there. I felt totally safe at this location though and the views are beautiful at night especially. There was plenty of space for both of us to live and even an office space in the apartment that we shared! There were a ton of cool amenities that we got charged for even if we never ever used them which was a pain for people trying to save money but if you have the time, there is a gym, a private workout/yoga room with TV, a theater space for private watch parties (given out first come first serve) and several lounge areas to hang out in or get work done. I believe there was a dog spa? Or a dog sitting or dog walking service (iI didn’t have any dogs so you’d have to check) you could use for a fee and a small dog friendly outdoor area out back with yet another place to lounge around. Oh right and a computer lab type room for quiet co-working and you could even reserve one of the meeting rooms for no charge. I wish I had had more time to use the amenities but life is chaotic!

So far we love it here!!
It's been about 3 months and no major problems thus far. If you have a dog this is the place to be!! There are so many dogs in the building and a dog park in the courtyard. The staff has been great! Work orders are actually addressed within 24 hours which is not always the case in other buildings. Really great staff that seems to work together really well.

I lived at HALO for two years and I had a great experience, I moved to the west coast, but if I am back in New York in the future I would definitely lease there again. I heard there were issues when the building opened with high electricity bills, but honestly the most expensive bill I ever had in the middle of the winter was $220, which I think is pretty fair for how much I was using the heat. Doorman were lovely! And the building was gorgeous, no denying that!

I lived in the HALO for one year and it was a good experience. I wanted to try a different neighborhood of NY, but honestly would move back to the halo.
I have no complaints about the management, they addressed issues in a timely manner and refunded me my full security deposit (I have a dog and was concerned about the wood floors). Wonderful guys at the front desk, super is nice too. Nice neighbors. I guess my only complaints are the elevators - you may need to wait a while for them (which is true for most high rise buildings).

THE WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!! I would rate them 0 star if I could. The apartment was not ready by our move in day. The person who's been managing our new apartment from this management waited until the last minute (one work day before) to notify us by sending a email saying: "Just want to confirm with you that the apartment will not be cleaned or painted." Is this a joke? Can they be more unprofessional??
When we tried reach them regarding the delay and our damage. They started to avoid our phone calls, emails, and voice messages(Even when we confirmed with front desk that they were in the office ).
Lawyer's letter has been sent, We will not cave unless we get our rightful compensation.
They are the most unprofessional management I have ever experienced. For the people who's looking for a new home, STAY AWAY from HALO and any property that's under management of this company. They suck your blood dry.
