The Royal George

We went in for a quick stop as I was visiting my parents. There was no greeting when we walked in, as the two waitresses at the bar were just chatting amongst themselves and the atmosphere seemed unfriendly. I went up to order my food and they seemed blunt. When the food arrived, the waitress abruptly told us that the sauces were behind us before going to sit on another table to chat to people I assume were regulars. I couldn’t find any mustard- but was also didn’t feel welcomed enough to ask. The bar was left unattended several times whilst we watched customers wait for someone to come back to serve them. My parent’s steaks were meant to be rare and medium rare but came out medium at most. My lamb was delicious. No one came to do a check back and ask how everything was or if we wanted anything else. At the end of the meal, the lady in the none uniform said goodbye which was the biggest greeting/farewell we got.

We stopped by the pub for lunch while walking the Cotswold Way. We really liked the place, and were feeling a bit lazy, so decided to spend a night at the hotel. Everything, from the friendly service, to cleanliness, to the high quality of the food, was impeccable. Would highly recommend!

Stopped in for some lunch on the way home from Stroud. The food was served really quickly despite it being busy. Both starters and mains were delicious and piping hot. Good value too. We would definitely visit again.

We just booked for a meal after a 5mile walk in the area & it was a great end to a great day. The food was extremely enjoyable & great value for money. Service was great too. Would definitely revisit if we were in the area again. The live music after our meal was great too!

In particular, I would like to extend my gratitude to Darren for going above and beyond to ensure that my partner and I felt truly accommodated throughout our stay. His attention to detail and willingness to cater to our needs made our experience truly exceptional.

Overall, our time at The Royal George Hotel Pub was nothing short of amazing. The combination of comfortable accommodations, delectable breakfast offerings, and outstanding service made for a memorable stay.
