Spacious oak-lined park with playground. Paved walking path, but I would not consider it a hiking trail. Old forestry tower, that cannot be climbed. No restrooms.

Really such a shame that you can't really enjoy this park. My kids were freaked out to find a makeshift bed on the playground. There was a settlement under the pavillion as well. The nice shady walking trail and little kids play equipment are present but not usable because of the homeless community residence.

Homeless central. Tower out of commission. Litter everywhere.

Imagine a beautiful city like Jax, amazing weather - completely absent Parks and Rec department.

When will I check again to see if the tower is operational?? Never?

Sad times.

Parks are my jam so...
This park has a sidewalk that allows you to meander through it without missing an inch of it. Shade everywhere and I'm taking about the OG kind of shade from the trees. There are few tables and a few benches throughout and a small playground for the littles. The tour of the park wouldn't be complete without stopping to look up at the tower and trying to imagine how much the terrain has been transformed over the years. Even though you can only look up at the tower it still adds so much character to the quaintness of it all.

Lots of trees, so nicely shaded. Equipment not in the best condition. A little too worn down for gatherings, but not too bad to bring dog or kids.

It would be a nice park if it wasn't overran by homeless people. It's shaded and has a sidewalk around the perimeter for walking. And has a nice playground. I walk there almost every morning. When my daughter doesn't have school she walks with me and begs and begs that I let her on the swings. But I don't feel safe letting her swing when there's a bunch of homeless people sitting under the canopy right by the playground. Occasionally they try chatting with me or whistle at me and it's really uncomfortable. They also leave trash everywhere and the city is constantly cleaning up after them.
