Amazing views of Maligne Lake on the boat tour to Spirit Island. About a 35 minute boat ride to the island, 15 minute off the boat for a short hike with different views of the lake, island and glaciers with a 35 minute boat ride back.
Beautiful scenery! 100% worth every dollar we spent. Did the lake tours and our tour guide was friendly and attentive, answered everyone's questions, and was knowledgeable. Once we got to the island, we were allowed to leave the boat and had 15 minutes to explore the surrounding area. Both the scenery to, during, and from the lake was breathtaking. We did go on a day where the smoke wasn't the best, but for me, this added to the atmosphere of the area.
It was the first rain on many days and was still worth every penny and minute of time. Nat our captain and Nick our host were superb.
It is mountain weather so always be prepared with warm clothing. During the trip the peaks went from viewing rock to viewing snow up high on the peaks. Totally recommend.

Along with Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, this is a very famous spot for photos. A well constructed trail gives lots of opportunities for photos. Access to the actual island is not permitted, so getting photos with no people in them is easy. The mountains behind the island are some of the most impressive in Canada.
Apparently we had an epic weather day. Liam (our guide) and Mel (our captain) were so knowledgeable, so respectful of the area, the history, fellow lake users. Learned so much. Enjoyed another stunning day in Jasper. Highly, highly recommend
I’d give this place 10 stars out of 5 if I could. It looks like heaven on earth. I am neither religious nor spiritual, but I can easily see why those who believe would hold this place in such a high regard. I do love taking photographs, and places like these are the dream locations for anyone loving to be behind a camera.
Pity the Maligne Lake cruises only allow 15 minutes on the peninsula *next* to Spirit Island. Felt it got over in minutes. I would recommend increasing to 20 minutes to let us soak it in a little longer!
