Little corner shop deli but then Surinamese buffet style. For those unfamiliar with the cuisine it's the perfect blend of Asian and Latin American cultures, paying hommage to India, Indonesia, Creole, and Caribbean dishes. I love their rolls (broodjes) and roti but I keep coming back for their lunch boxes (until 17) both filling and savory for that time of day. It's ready in a whim or perfect for takeout! Place is super clean and service is fast. If I understand correctly all the meat is halal.

Cannot speak for the atmosphere since we ordered in, but the service and the food is terrible. Especially the service. Personnel was very rude and dismissive. Owner was going to "fix the issue" by contacting us and offering a solution "within the hour". He never did. I strongly advise not ordering here for delivery.

In my opinion it’s not really that good the flavor as before. I used to eat here all the time.
The service the man is so RUDE!
It’s not the first time he did this before!
Anyway I went in asking for a small LUNCH BOX,
I think the guy didn’t heard me properly I asked for rice and beef.
So he started to put the beef in the box and than I said can I have some rice with it.
He gave me an attitude!
And acted very RUDE and said you didn’t ask me, in my head I’m thinking it’s also common sense.
Anyway even if I didn’t what’s the problem to just put rice in there!
There’s no need to be RUDE for that. I won’t be coming back here for sure! Too bad I used to recommended all my clients to come here for lunch because i work at the hairdresser close by.
It doesn’t hurt to just be nice you know!

This hidden Surinamese restaurant inside Waterlooplein Metro Station is a convenient and good spot for a quick meal. While the Fried Banana was a tad soggy, their Surinamese Sandwiches and Fried Rice/Noodle dishes are absolutely delicious. Portions are plentiful, and it is perfect for takeaway or a quick sit-down. Don't miss this spot if you are in the area!

We were looking for a Surinamese place after a recommendation from a walking tour we did in Amsterdam. The first place we found was takeout only, the second was full, so we walked here - note it's in the metro station, go down the stairs. We'd never had Surinamese food and didn't know what to expect... But it was very good! We had a mixed meat plate with noodles and a mixed vegetables plate with rice. Theres some sauces on the tables, and plenty of options on the menu. Popular place, lots of traffic, people were friendly and helpful for us non-locals.

This is a nice place for a meal.
They have many different options, the food is good and well serviced.
The price is also fair based on the size of the dishes.
