Reviews

My absolute go-to spot for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal in Leidseplein. You don't go here for the particularly friendly service (with the exception of the lady wearing glasses and a head band who is actually very kind), but the food is so good, it more than makes up for it. You can't really go wrong with any of the noodle dishes, especially given they're hand-pulled and freshly made. But my favourites are the spicy oil noodle (need a decent tolerance) and the soy bean paste noodles. I would eat here every week if my wallet allowed.
The food was great! I did not expect much from a place which is located so centrally as they tend to be quite touristy and don’t bother with good food/service.

This place was not only average, but really good! I would definitely go back and try out their other dishes.

We had some Chinese beer, fried chicken dumplings, braised beef noodle soup as well as the spicy beef soup. Our friend had the cucumber salad which had good flavour but I personally don’t enjoy the texture of pickled veggies so I did not enjoy this but if you don’t mind the texture, the taste is pretty good (spicy and sweet mix).

Everything was so good, but if you like some spicy food, go for the spicy soup, it’s so flavourful and spiced just right.

The bowls were 15€ each and the 6x dumplings were 5€, and the beer just under 4€.

Would 100% recommend!

A pricey property that claims that markets itself as eco-friendly. Service was great, and staff was friendly. Property was clean.

If temperature control is important to you, there is limited control over your room temperature as a room employs a floor temperature system, not traditional ACs or heaters. I was sweating in bed every single night with the maximum possible lowest temperature set.

With the Indonesian theme, the breakfast buffet lacked much Asian dishes.
Easily the best food we ate in Amsterdam. Really nice family run restaurant with fantastic food. I think they tone down the spice for the Dutch locals, but just ask for dry chili or chili paste and they’ll bring you their grandma’s original recipe

Stayed at this beautiful hotel for my birthday with my husband and it such a tranquil, modern oasis! The ambiance of the hotel is spectacular, the wood work, the plants and garden in the lobby, really shows that they have thought about the entire theme and with care. The room was simply beautiful, very comfortable, great coffee and the view of Amsterdam is SO worth staying at this hotel!
We were lucky enough to enjoy a couple massage in the morning - Wendel the Wellness Manager made this happen for us, masha danki! We had an amazing treatment, because it was dedicated to our needs. Therapists Cindy and Savi knew exactly the areas where to focus on in the massage, so worth it! Definitely take time out of the busy schedule to unwind in the wellness. Overall very nice people working in restaurant, front desk and service was everything it should be. Recommend staying here in a heart-beat.

Looking forward to returning!

We stayed here before getting on a cruise ship. It was a perfect location, and the rooms were clean and dead quiet! Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are going on a cruise.

Noodle soup very authentic and tasty! Large Chinese paintings on walls are very cute. Waiters are nice, but I ordered a spicy hot oil noodle, and they didn't ask me how spicy I wanted it, so when I tried it, it was EXTREMELY spicy!!!!! 🔥 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 Otherwise everything was super!

Two worlds connected; is an absolutely the best slogan for this hotel. It gives you the chill vibes of Jakarta, but in Amsterdam.
Interior was great, Resturant and cafe/bakery was very good specially the atmosphere and the view. Breakfast could be better, rooms were so clean, chic and relaxing.
Staffs were very nice.
Must be the place for your stay, if you wanna be far from crowd and the city center. It’s 25min walk to the city center.

Nice outdoor dining area. Very friendly staff. Their Tom yum soup is very nice, sour and spicy. Red curry chicken goes very well with rice. And the spicy level is just on point. Stir fried duck is too salty for me. Had to take a lot of white rice together.

Best fine dining experience in Amsterdam! Delicious set courses, most of them are naturally vegetarian with the core main being meat (beef for me). Fresh ingredients tastefully put together. A very relaxed environment with waiters in t-shirts but wonderful service nonetheless. Great old fashioned cocktails. Very happy with the no deposit policy.

De Kas is a treat and a half, with most or all of the produce grown in the on-site greenhouse or nearby farm. The service was excellent, the drinks were super tasty, and most importantly, every single dish prix-fixe dish that came out was better than the last. Absolutely phenomenal food from start to finish.

One thing they do that I really loved was that you don’t have to decide on the number of dishes at the beginning. They stop at 5 and ask if you’re still hungry, and are happy to stop or keep going, accordingly. Super thoughtful establishment from top to bottom. Don’t miss it.

Went here for lunch with my family and best friends. Such a welcoming atmosphere and a relaxed vibe. The garden outside the restaurant is amazing - heaps of different produce and flowers. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4-course lunch plus desserts. Booking is a MUST - there were a few customers who couldn't get a table because they didn't have a booking.
I'm still searching for the best Pad Thai of Amsterdam, and so far, Maenaam has provided the best one. However, my search continues.

When I went to Thailand, I discovered the delicious flavor of authentic Pad Thai. I've visited several Thai restaurants in the Amsterdam area, and all of them have either been too bland or too sweet. You need the perfect mix of sweet and salty (and spicy) to have a good Pad Thai.

I almost gave up on my search for the best Pad Thai of Amsterdam until one day I googled "authentic Thai food Amsterdam," and this place came up.

The food is the closest of what I have tasted so far in Amsterdam, but I'm still not satisfied. They did not serve dry chili with the Pad Thai as is custom in Thailand, and the flavor wasn't completely what I was looking for. However, if I still can not find what I am looking for, I can at least come here for a decent Pad Thai that is not too sweet, nor too bland.

The food was super oily. Had a sauce , too much sauce, that made everything taste the same. Not fresh. And it had hair in it of the person that serves it up. All with all, never again. Tasted old and reheated. Not fresh woked flavour at all for the price of almost 50 euros!!! I had 2 beef noodles with extra beef paid for. And yet, little beef .
Delicious food which was served fast. We entered the restaurant because it looked very nice inside and it was busy but without a queue waiting, and we had a good time. We took a few things of the menu and it was served castle. For two people we spent around €50,-
Love the Chinese noodle shop concept since there is not that many around in Amsterdam. I highly recommended the spicy hot oil noodle, the chewy noodle mix with well seasoned veggie and meat, it is absolutely sensational. Though service can be slow from time, but whatever it’s a eat and go place after all.

In Regulierstraat, walking distance from cozy canals and Rembrandtplein, this Thai restaurant is worth trying. Quite dark with soft lighting, a good atmosphere for romantic dinners. The menu has many options, we chose a mixed starter (the version with shrimp), then a spicy chicken main with white rice, and a beef one with fried rice. Portions are huge, so one could be enough for sharing (we had so much leftover that we asked to take away).
The food was excellent, we enjoyed a few Thai beers with it, and the final bill was 97€ (50€ each). 👍

This Thai restaurant is located in the heart center of the city next to Rembrandt. The place is super big, a bit dark inside and kind of not reflecting the Asian culture, but still nicely decorated.

Service was super well and they always come to help you and ask if you need anything.

Their menu is huge so it would be intimidating to pick from the options without knowing what they are. Portions are super big and very good value for money.

The tastes vary between fair, good and super. With the usual Thai cuisine dishes.
Checked this place out because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Food is very traditional and very tasty. Great portions. We had a chicken stir fry, massaman beef curry and some satay sticks. All delicious. Glad we took the time to come here.

I really liked the concept - from farm to table, local ingredients and suppliers. The ambiance was amazing, in an open space with lots of natural light. I do think the flavours were unique and great to try but overall not my cup of tea. A good experience but I wouldn’t be in a rush to come back.

Good place to have pad thai for a reasonable price. It's basically a fast food place, very efficient with the orders. The portion is pretty big. The pad thai has quite a sweet flavour here and I prefer it saltier.

We had a pleasant experience, with great fresh and unique food. I eat gluten-freeand and they fit the menu for me🌾
The place itself is beautiful, and we loved to see all the green surrounding us.
It's was a bit chilly inside, so bring a jacket.
Usually, you need to book in advance, but if you didn't try to look on the website on the same day, people canceled. We had a lucky day 😊
Very recommended!
We had such a great experience at Supper Restaurant on a Thursday evening! You enter a building with high beautiful ceilings, take off your shoes and sit on a comfy couch, all to enjoy the dinner-show. We really like an entertaining dinner, and this place definitely puts on a good show! While having a 4-course meal, with tasty dishes, you see dancers performing, lots of singing & art in general. The food was very good! At the end of dinner, the place turns into a party mood, so you can stay & dance the night away 💃

Insects were flying everywhere at outdoor seating in July. Even though we didn't make a reservation , we asked if they could let us sit inside when a table is availed. The waiter with curly hair just rejected upfront, and rudely put down our second order of water with a loud thud as if it had done a bad deed on him. The other table with a caucasien table, this same waiter was politely providing them with takeout boxes and etc. When it came to us ordering dessert, he refused to let us have a second serving. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE NOT LOCAL DUTCH AS THEY DON'T RESPECT INTERNATIONAL TOURISTS OF COLOR.

The most incredible and unique culinary experience we’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is set in a greenhouse surrounded by a park, everything was lush, green, and so natural. Staff was amazing, attentive, and timed perfectly. We had a five course meal with oysters and each dish was better than the next. Flavors were robust, dishes plated to perfection, and was a completely curated meal. Absolutely a must in Amsterdam

My partner and I recently had dinner at Little Chinatown before heading to the movies at Pathé, and we had a delightful experience overall. Initially, we found the prices a bit high, but we quickly discovered that ordering a menu saved us some money compared to individual items. Once our plates arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes, making the price well worth it. The staff at Little Chinatown were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the positive atmosphere. We ended up with leftovers and were provided with a takeaway tub, which was convenient and allowed us to enjoy our meal later. Overall, we had a satisfying dining experience at Little Chinatown, and it complemented our movie outing perfectly.

AVOID this restaurant. Rude staff and the worst Thai food I’ve eaten. Female manager needs serious retraining on customer service. I run my own successful restaurant in the UK and was shocked with the attitude of this manager, almost yelling when speaking, this is no way to behave or talk with paying customers. Starters and prawn stir fry dish was good and rest of the food was extremely poor. The chicken fried rice and egg fried rice was horrible and tasted off. We ate what we could and left the rest. Asked for the dessert menu and the female manager raised her hand to look at her watch in front of us as if to imply we haven’t got time for desserts and replied we don’t have dessert menu only have ice cream. Seemed like they wanted to get rid of us. This was by far the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant.

Went to the Indonesian restaurant. Its food was great. The service started out well, disappeared, then descended to downright rude. This isn't the only game in town with good food and great views. Until competent management's on board that's capable of setting and maintaining standards, below-McDonald's-level service at a premium price is a bad deal.

Great restaurant that we use a lot for take away. A lot of dishes to choose from for a reasonable price. The Combination/Month offers are great. Once they forgot an extra curry egg and they brought us a free bottle of wine with the next delivery!
I went to the show in 2022 and had an amazing time. Now in 2023 I went back and it was a big disappointment, the show is reduced to almost nothing anymore, hopefully in the future the show is again what it was before... For the moment totally not worth the value for money :(

Nice place for brunch by the water located inside Hotel Jakarta. They have a good selection for Indonesian food. I am not an expert on the cuisine but the Indonesian appetiser plate I got was quite tasty. I also tried mocktails rose garden and jasmine, good but not too special. Prices are a bit on the higher side but reasonable for the place and quality.
It is a cool place, we visited it in a very quiet Sunday, we enjoyed the sun on the pillows outside on the sand . The staff was quite "sleepy" and no really happy maybe to work on Sunday ahhh . By the way the place is very nice and for sure they organize cool parties too . I would recommend that in quietst hours to put some nice chill out music outside and to keep the vibe with more positives energies and not like zoombies . From the outside sand place you can watch the Wind 'n Wheels activities on the Land Sailing ( the tricycle vehicle with the sail ) . Next time we are going to visit this place we are going to try them, they looks like so cool to drive or maybe I should say to sail !

The room, bath and hotel itself was very clean and you've got anything you need in your room. The balcony was also very nice with a great view on cruise ships!

The whole staff was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was the best I've ever had in a hotel! Quality of food was amazing!

Unfortunately the sky Bar was very disappointing. The presentation of drinks was very poor and 15€ for a glass of ICE is unacceptable.

Furthermore the Pool was very cold in my opinion.
Beautiful open design of the rooms, as well like hotel itself. Excellent view from the waterfront rooms, gym, pool and restaurant all. Roof bar is simply stunning! Breakfast is not fancy but proper enough. I recommend for business trips, everything you need can be found on site. Two minutes walk to tram /N26/ stop and with another 7 min you are on Central station.

For the price, the amount of food I got was good. It tasted quite good, although there were a lot of bean sprouts in the dish. I would personally have liked a little bit more noodles instead of the large amount of the bean sprouts.

Service was fast, although not personal at all.
Service was amazing. Never seen better service then here. Atmosphere was just wow. The decoration of that place was beautiful and it was really clean and you had your space at the table. The food was also really delicious but s little bit cold but otherwise it was amazing. Would definitely recommend going here, because it's in the quieter part of Amsterdam

Super authentic Thai food , I used to live in Thailand and this is really really spot on with the flavours. I've been here three times now on various trips to Amsterdam, my only gripe is the way they try get you out the restaurant within a few minutes of finishing a meal. The first time actually was whilst waiting for dessert !
Authentic Thai restaurant that offers a wide range of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. We ordered the classic Pad Thai and Vegetarian Curry. Both dishes were well seasoned and tasted very good. In terms of pricing, the restaurant offered reasonable rates for the quality and portion sizes.

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and the staff members were also very friendly and attentive. Not to mention the great location in the city centre!

Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve tried in Europe, tastes are very authentic🌟 The staff were very nice and accommodating! The food was really good. For someone who has a taste for sour and spicy food, you should try tom yum soup. And we also ordered pad krapao, which went well with rice. It’s a very casual place for a quick lunch/dinner. Food is standard but not so amazing. I ordered Sichuan spicy beef noodles, the beef from the soup is a highlight. Noodles are a bit over cooked today. Soup is tasty and perfect for the winter weather here. I added some extra spicy chilly on the table. It’s strong so be careful if you can not handle too much spicy. Soy milk is sweet and warm, good for balance the noodle dish afterwards. I give 7.5/10 of everything.

My family and I recently had the excellent experience here. We were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. The food taste is excellent. As a Thai people, I can say that this is a truly authentic taste. I would love to recommend that this is the place to go.
This was my second time trying this restaurant, and the food was just as delicious as the first time! The service was a lot better, too. Great Thai food, excellent flavours, all dishes worth a try! And the beautiful flower garnish that comes with each main dish is a nice touch!
My go-to place near Leidseplein because the food always is good. Just the right amount of not-caring by the obvious real Chinese staff, amazing food and noodles and quick and spiffy after the order.
I also take out plenty of times when I’m at work and they’re dependable and delicious. One of my favourites is the spicy soup with lamb and thick noodles.
Maybe it was the choice of dishes for lunch, but I feel like it lacked a bit. For the price point, the food taste a bit plain.

The elements of a good dish can be found. The sauce on the club is good, the chicken is flavourful.

Going back for dinner soon, but for now slightly under par.
Honestly, after the hype we heard from friends visiting and seeing other themes, we paid the €79 each to go... and wish we hadn't. We were notified by WhatsApp to turn up early for a secret cocktail bar... which when we turned up was closed. First red flag. Staff were unapologetic and did nothing about it, leaving us with no drink reservation, on a Saturday evening in a major Eurpeon city. The entrance to the restaurant was run down, dirty, and with falling set pieces meant to evoke a rich an textured middle eastern vibe, but failed. Our "seats" were cushioned bed-like things with metal tables to help reduce the risk of spilling... and we were seated BEHIND the DJ booth so could barely see any of the "entertainment". The "entertainment" was a compare who scanned about reciting canned Rupaul phrases who couldn't get the clearly disappointed crowd excited about the show, and who walked in and out the room a few times (fairly pointlessly, as she really was doing nothing else), and a couple of aerial acrobats. That's it. The food (a mezzo plate of bread, dips, and a few tiny meatballs (the most promising dish), tinned tomato soup, some kind of badly cooked chewy fish with couscous, and a tiny selection of fruit and pastry) was certainly not worth the price tag either. And at the end of dinner/"the show", whilst eating dessert (a small canoli (not fresh), a small baklava (also no fresh), a tiny slice of melon, chunk of pineapple and HALF a strawberry) two chefs wheeled out some smoking table on wheels set piece to take a bow... it was honestly ludicrous. The whole "experience" cost over €250 and I've had better dinner theatre experience watching TV with a microwave meal on a tray. Avoid at all costs.

We had a lovely evening with a great show! The hospitality was absolutely great and very kind, we felt like at home. Will certainly come back again!
I had an initial 5 star-review as the venue is really nice, but I'm changing it now.
I forgot my metal drinking bottle and immediately emailed the restaurant asking them to set it aside. They never responded. When I showed up only a few days later, the staff informed me it's standard practice to throw away everything left by customers, stating so much is left behind they can't store it all. I can only conclude this is not a very customer oriented place and they must not like returning customers.

One star less only because its always fully booked 🤣 Nice ambience, Great Food 👍🏻
This building looks amazing from the inside. Huge open spaces with a ceiling spanning multiple floors. Lots of woodwork and as a highlight, a serious indoor jungle with huge plants and trees that easily intimidates the average botanical garden.

Food is very good, although not all portions are that big. If in doubt ask the staff. I ended up having two mains to satisfy my appetite, but hey, I can be very hungry sometimes.

Staff was attentive and friendly. Lots of space on a casual Saturday afternoon which made for a peaceful weekend lunch.

Absolutely great experience, Delicious of PadThai and beef noodles soup. Highly recommend. Best Pad Thai in Amsterdam

We highly recommend Pad Thai. Good and delicious, very popular with Thai people like us. In Amsterdam is a Pad Thai world restaurant. The taste is Thai and I like it very much. Would recommend to try when you visit here.
Excellent food and full of flavour. Best Thai we have had in Amsterdam. Central location. Always busy.

Staff were excellent and served a big table really well. Super busy on a Saturday so make sure you book a table.
Tasty Thai food, nice staff which was open minded to make changes for us in the dishes.

Located in a central location so it easy to come by.

Recommended for the Thai cuisine lovers.
The atmosphere is very nice. It has good dairy free options which is something not so easy to find. Staff was very nice and all the dishes we had very very tasty.

Their fried rice was nice but their noodle was a bit disappointing.

However, I was feeling uncomfortable while eating because I could feel the staff was looking at me standing right behind me, literally most of seconds while I was there. Maybe if they are sitting, it would be a lot better, in my opinion
Jan-2023: Cozy Thai restaurant in a great location. Had Tom yum soup - which while the soup wasn't substantial, tasted good, spicy, and had copious amounts of fresh chicken, and mushrooms. Equally good was the fish kraprao. While I thought the fish would be stir fried, it was three large pieces of fried fish on top of a spicy medley of long beans and basil. Very good. Panang chicken was also on point, once again with quite a bit of chicken, slightly leaning towards sweeter side. Had a few shots of Sangsom, a light cognac like spirit from Thailand.

Drinks are nicely made. But the food is okay, I had way better Indonesian food. It was enjoyable but not that special. Service was good.
Very nice atmosphere. It's all about indonesia, from food to interiour design in the hotel. The food was delicious, we ordered a mix of indonesian food and I can definitely recommend it. In my opinion the average google rating should be higher than what it currently is in comparison to other restaurants in Amsterdam.

So much fun! The food was good enough, but you don't come here for the food. You come for the atmosphere, the showmanship, the performances, the party, and all were outstanding. Expect to participate in the show at least a little bit. You'll miss out as a mere bystander. Supperclub will remain as possibly the most memorable moment during our visit to Amsterdam.
It is literally the best ‘etli ekmek’ however they never open at 12:00 and we end up going some random place half the time ☺️
You can order using a touch screen if you are going to pay by card, or order at the counter. The snacks were tasty and served pretty fast. The fish cakes were rather spicy though. The snacks were served with sweat chilli source.
Best thai restaurant in Amsterdams! The food was great (especially if you want the real thai taste just like what you have in Thailand) and the owner was really friendly. Very recommended!

The food is good, but the noodles are too dry, huge portions, the photos show a small portion for one person and also a large one for one person

This review is purely aboout the food, not the place as a whole. Best “Etliekmek” I ate abroad. True to Konya style, hard to discern from the original, a true gem in taste. You’ll appreciate it if you are deom Konya.

The restaurant itself is average at best in terms of service, facilities etc. but who cares? Just enjoy the Etliekmek and be grateful that you find the taste 5K km from home.

Similar to many folks here, I had a great time with my friends and gf but it’s definitely one of those places you’ll come for the experience once but won’t be back in a hurry as it’s quite expensive for a dining experience.
The food was actually quite good but don’t go in expecting large portions or to be full as they are going for the fine-dining/tasting experience. Having said that someone already commented that it felt a bit like wedding catering and you can indeed see the similarities. It was also impossible to eat gracefully on the beds! If you do book a bed just be mindful you’re not going to have a comfortable dining experience!

There were plentiful options for drinks but not so many cocktails and the ones I did order were “ok” - surprisingly drinks prices were reasonable here.

The show itself was interesting, combination of light, dance and some acrobatic performances. I won’t spoil the ending but it combines your dessert with a show. :)

You do get kicked off your table/bed at the end around 9/10pm as the place converts to a nightclub which was fun.

There were some other bars downstairs that looked fun but we didn’t get round to going.

Nice interior design (at least the one our times require), but absolutely mediocre food, far less good than any ordinary Indonesian, no sophistication whatsoever. My King Prawns dish was tomatoes and zucchini in huge chunks, flavorless and tossed in a bowl, like the chef hated me. Oh well, I didn't see in the kitchen anyone who looked remotely Indonesian. A wasted meal, when I could have gone to Kantijl & Tijger...
If this place has right to put name Havzan, the quality of pide should be on a very high level authentic to one in Konya. Try their Mevlana - it is super delicious!

Great place. The service is great both on dine in and delivery. Serving size is quite generous. The chicken and beef is halal here.

A few issues: firstly it is not a nice and quiet place to eat in. The photos look deceptive.
Secondly the food was only lukewarm and cooled down quite fast. The only saving grace was the mihoen, which came late.
The taste was barely average, no spice despite two pepper icon. Quite expensive too.
Disappointed!

Ik zal niet meer terugkomen, echt niet waar voor het geld, koude hap.
Feels like a beach café at the edge of the city. Bohemian vibe. End of the world feel to it. Friendly staff. And unique to Amsterdam. It's still free of charge parking. Only had some drinks there this time, next time we'll be back for some food.

Nice food nice staff good prices.

I was invited by friends and usually I don't go for restaurants that in my opinion appeal to the tourists. But this one pleasantly surprised me. The food is tasty and for this price at such a location you'd expect a lot less. But it's good. And the staff was very kind and professional. I can recommend if you're hungry for Thai and in the area.

The portion of food is big, really good for what you’re paying. The char siu was a little dry but still pretty good. The fo nam (pork belly) almost didn’t have a crispy layer, but the taste was still nice. I definitely recommend their deepfried shrimp wonton.

They delivered super fast (within 30 minutes) and they also listened to my request of extra sauces. Everything was also well packaged so nothing was leaking. Again, for the price that I paid I’m still satisfied and will definitely order more here!

the first time we went here the pide tasted good, this time however the meat had a strange smell and was pink, very chewy. we’re pretty sure they mixed some other type of meat in there so the pide would have a lot of meat for cheaper. when we told them this, instead of an apology, the chef didn’t want to hear any of it. they don’t take their customers seriously. not going back there.

Lovely food. Authentic Turkish food.
Good food with some decent options, even for vegetarians! Good ambience and nice staff. The price seems a bit on the expensive side, but looking at the quantity of food, it is a good deal. Situated near the Bijlmer arena station, it's a 6-8 min walk from the station. Overall nice experience.
