Garden City Essentials

I was so excited to go to GCE and went for the first time yesterday but was shocked and disappointed when I was discriminated against and told i wasn't allowed in the store. I drove 45 minutes to shop and had quite a large list of things i wanted to purchase and was heartbroken. I actually cried as I left.

If this company truly followed public health guidelines they would allow my medical exemption (Like every other place I shop). If this company truly suffered through the pandemic they wouldn’t turn away paying customers. :(

I LOVE what this company does but discrimination of any kind is unacceptable. I cannot support this company anymore and will tell my fellow non-toxic living loving friends about my experience as well. I really hope they learn to be inclusive.

I recently started purchasing items from Garden City Essentials online. Today was my first visit in store. The place was immaculate. The customer service was amazing (the lady took her time answering questions thoroughly and was helpful to all of the customers with whom I saw her interact, including myself). The products are amazing, eco-friendly and aim to reduce waste. If you get a chance, you should try their hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pucks and laundry strips . Plus, if you bring in your own (washed) containers, you can purchase in bulk and reduce waste even further.

Truly a great store and a great experience.

Jolene and her team are absolutely fabulous! It doesn't matter how small her team is they give their time and advice out like they are never in a time crunch or trying to rush you. I always appreciate how kind, honest, and genuine their words are and I am constantly blown away with their products and customer service. Thank you for your patience and work during this time!! A calming space in the heart of downtown. The owner is so kind and wonderful. She stocks a wide variety of Eco-friendly goods, I know that she will always have what I need. I am loving the addition of bulk refills online too! I can't recommend this little shop enough, if I could give more then 5 stars I absolutely would!

Lovely local business. Love this store. Every single thing I've purchased has been amazing. I've gotten their Restorative Hydration Facial Moisturizer, Lip Butter with Chamomile + Sea Buckthorn, Deodorant, some conditioner, hand cream, and even an organic cotton lunch bag! All of which gets used every day. Looking forward to trying the rest of the skincare line next.

I love this store, I want to buy everything! It’s a small business with a big heart. Jolene is so kind, always quick to fix a mistake on an online order. Her own GCE honey clay mask, moisturizer, toner spray and deodorant are fantastic; high quality for a fair price. Through her products you can see the values and passion that fuels this business. She offers vegan, organic, zerowaste, natural, cruelty free, environmentally friendly products, with a large bulk section to refill your favourite products!
