We completed the Paradise Lake Loop which is a moderate hike that took us approx 8km to complete. While completing this hike please be aware that there is a fair few steps, and some difficult terrain such as it being muddy in some areas. The views when you make it up to the hill is very pretty to see, we really loved the stunning lake! This hike is mostly shaded but still be sun smart and bring bug spray too! The parking here is good, it can get quite busy, but it is free and accessible.

Lovely nature park with trails of intermediate difficulty. Beautiful waterfall and lake. Be prepared for changes in elevation. I would recommend wearing hiking boots or other good shoes for climbing/outdoor activity. It is a pretty wild trail and not the easiest to navigate - infrequent map signage, but there are trailhead markers. There are also some nice signs about the local wildlife with QR codes.
You may want to park at the parking lot next to "Entrée Alfred Kelly Nature Reserve" on Rue de la Station. We visited in mid-April, so there was still plenty of snow covering the forest and paths. The initial climb at the Entrée is steep and slippery when wet/snowy. The back entrance near Mnt Sauvage (where Google Maps brought me) also has a steep and wet descent, but not quite as laborous as the Entrée in my experience. The rear entrance is also closer to Lac Paradis. Parking is limited on the streets. Lovely park for birdwatching.

Great place for a hike all year long. It is free to access and hike, or snow shoe. No dogs…we found out when we brought ours last summer. You will be kindly told to leave. We used crampons today (Dec 27) but snow shoes would be better.

Great option for hiking only 45min from the city (with no traffic). There’s several trails, not that east to navigate but it’s pretty busy so there’s people to ask around. Don’t need to reserve or pay fee to enter. There’s free parking at the base on the street. It’s an intermediate hike, lots of rocks and slopes going up/down. A nice lake to see and views from the top.

Nice hiking though I found it a little hard to navigate and figure out the trails, ended up going in small circles a few times 😬 also, difficult to see what the trail is situated at times and it is really lacking in maintenance on the bridges. Literal holes... Dangerous.

Parking is available at the info centre.

Beautiful place. Free parking and free admission. Hiking is not for beginners as there are some rocky areas and steep incline/decline. If you are looking for a scenic one hour hike the trail around the lake is beautiful.
The website says there is 16km of trails so the park is quite big. There are beautiful views from the mountain, aswell as a another lake with a beaver dam. Very scenic park, dogs and bikes are prohibited.

I moved to Piedmont last year and discovered the trail a kilometer from my house, adjacent to Mont Olympia ski hill in Quebec. For months I hiked one section, but recently discovered it is an 8 km trail. Mostly well marked. Pretty easy day hike, or less than an hour 3.7 km loop from old train Station near the highway 117, around lac Paradis. Opportunities for some beautiful pictures.
