Do not go here if you want helpful service. I had to renew my passport and document Apostille. They refused to help even when you make a special trip, since you cannot do these things in the mail. Rude, officious very unAustralian.

First of all it takes about a month to get an appointment to renew the passport, really?
The racist security guard was rude, unprofessional and aggressive.
However, the lady at the counter was awesome.

After experiencing horrendous service from most US public servant offices (eg DMV, Social Security Office), coming to the Consulate General of Australia was a breath of fresh air. Very friendly staff (including the security guard) & was able to complete three passport renewal applications (myself & my 2 kids) within 15 minutes. When you make an appointment for 9.30am, you actually get to see someone at 9.30am!

Usually the Australian Consulate-General in Houston is a great place. However, the last couple of times I went there to drop off my passport application and when I went to pick it up, I was "helped" by the same guy who was down right rude. Base on my previous 2 experiences I would give it a 1 star but every other time that I have been there, it has been great... stick with Australian staff, please!!

Everyone I have interacted with was very kind and friendly. Renewing my passport was a really easy and efficient experience, from my first appointment to collecting it very shortly after.

I went to the Consulate to get a Temporary Passport as I had lost mine and I must say it was a painless effort.
Thanks to Rob Smith who was helpful from the beginning although I did not have an appointment. He slotted me in and helped with filling my application process.
Got it within 1.5 days.

I had a poor experience. Rob was insulting and condescending from the get go, as if my presence alone was infuriating. He made wild, incorrect, and irrelevant statements regarding my situation. He was unhelpful and didn’t even bother to notify or contact me regarding a minor issue with my passport; something that another person at the consulate thought was odd.

Megan, however, was a delight to deal. Polite, respectful, and able to solve the problem I had within minutes.

Security guard was funny as well. Nice guy.

what a pleasant experience, staff were really helpful and passport renewal was seamless. They stayed in touch with me and let me know the progress.
So much nicer than doing this in Australia at at the Post Office or at BDM.
