Sparkle Lake trail is short but scenic. Swimming, fishing, grilling and picnicking allowed. Playground too!

What happened to Sparkle Lake? When I was a kid we’d drive up from north Yonkers and spend the day swimming and picnicking on the sand! It was beautiful and clean and a wonderful place to get away from our hot house.

Visited Yorktown Heights Parks and Recreation Department to get signed in for activities and retrieve a copy of the latest New Letter

Such as great spot for families and kids but needs some major clean up and a water check. Perhaps early in the season but the water was dark and dirty, weeds growing, goose droppings. Our little kids did not mind but I was a bit hesitant!

Great lake for the kids. Spacious, plenty of fish and shade for the parents. Highly recommend if you want to get the kids to a spot where they'll have a great time fishing.

I really wish the town would invest in Sparkle Lake by cleaning up the weeds, adding more sand and planting some flowers. We don't have much to do in this town but it would be nice to have a place to put our feet in the sand without driving over an hour away. Kids are happy to play in the sand and only get their feet wet (since the water is so murky).
