Misto

Excellent restaurant! Last Saturday evening we found ourselves without a reservation for dinner in Ambleside and thought we'd chance our luck here. We were greeted to a friendly welcome and told availability would be 15mins or so, so waited outside. Ended up talking to another couple waiting who said this place doesn't actually take bookings so you can tell its popular if a short queue outside the door!

Once seated, attentive staff for drinks and food. Wide range of choices on the menu and most importantly, food was delicious! Shout out to Tanya for top service. Would recommend!

Ok what can I say the staff was great the food was good the starter was good but the pizza was soggy and you can tell it was cook in an oven not a pizza oven over all pretty cheap would come again

Fantastic Italian restaurant in the very popular Ambleside.

After a brief wander around the centre we really liked the look of Misto and got a table on walk-in for lunch (before the restaurant got very busy by 2pm).

All staff were very friendly and prompt with their service. The interior style is quirky modern and cosy, and there was a nice atmosphere and buzz of people chatting and all enjoying their meals.

The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I was particularly impressed to find gluten free gnocchi (first time in a UK restaurant in +20 years), and the gluten free pizza base was one of the best I have had (we even overheard another person double checking their pizza was definitely gluten free as they said it was so good).

I would go out of my way to go here again, a very nice place and overall dining experience!

Very enjoyable meal at Misto. Staff is very helpful and works so hard. No reservations, just walk-ins, so expect to wait a while if it's busy. We waited 40 mins before being seated indoors. It's worth a visit as there are a few choices for something different.. Didn't get a 5 star because it is not exactly authentic Italian food, but it's very tasty.

Had a fantastic dinner here with my partner whilst on holiday. It is extremely popular with no booking system so you do have to give it some patience to get in. All the food is absolutely divine and tastes so fresh it is most definitely worth the wait. Once inside the service is very prompt without feeling as though we are being rushed out the door which was highly appreciated.

Beautiful italian restaurant. Loads of choises in the menu. Lovely wine, delicious camembert and tasty steak.
4 star for small details like eating and drinking in front of guest, the menus can be left more nicer on the table and prioritising the customers more than chatting.
If the service will be improved, this restaurant has loads of potential and loads to offer.
We will come back on our next holiday.

We went whilst visiting Ambleside for my birthday. Beautiful restaurant. Beautiful food. Lovely and accommodating staff. Well worth the short wait for a table (it’s walk ins only but the system works really well) and would highly recommend it. The restaurant was filled with both visitors but also locals who visit time and time again❤️
