New American Academy Charter School

I would sincerely recommend not sending my child here or working here. Teacher turnover is very high, so children will not really be "looping" with teachers as they claim. Administrators are rude and condescending - in particular Ms. Tranni, Ms. Osnes and Ms. Silva. Some of the teachers are good, but Ms. Osnes is creating an unsuitable environment for learning. They are looking out for their paycheck, not the children of Brooklyn. Be warned - they claim to be different from "all the other charter schools", but, surprise surprise, THEY'RE NOT.

I would be very surprised if the school is around in 5 years.

TNAACS has been great. My son has attended since Kindergarten and the teachers so far have been excellent. His home teacher, I can't give her enough credit, she has always address concerns in timely manner and offer suggestions to support his learning. He has had the same teacher in the lower loop and now that he will be moving to the upper loop with new teachers I hope to expect the same care. I truly believe the school, does the best they can to support the children and offer activities for there needs.

It is with these values that we prepare our children to go out into the world to become exemplary, responsible citizens leaving their positive foot prints on the world.

I absolutely love this school! My daughter is in 5th Grade and we will miss them when she leaves. The teachers and the administrative staff are extremely helpful; they respond to emails and messages promptly, they are very receptive to feedback and they genuinely love the kids!

This is the first school year for my daughter, who is in kindergarten. TNAACS is a very nice school, great location and neighborhood, the teachers ans Staff are very welcoming and friendly. my daughter loves her teachers and her new friends. great after school program, i will refer as many parents to TNAACS.

I think this is a good school. I like the extra learning that they have for the children which includes music, arts & technology. I like that are always trying to add more enrichment programs like chess & more recently, they are looking into adding Spanish. Everything isn't perfect but I am satisfied. My daughter started here in Kindergarten and is now in the 3rd grade.

This is my daughters first year in TNAACS and she absolutely loves it so far. In the beginning it was a bit rocky with getting a steady bus driver which caused the children to arrive late to their stop at times. Compared to her old school, this school offers Special classes. She really loves her music class. She said that she really enjoyed the black history month celebration and how serious they took that month. The teachers are very friendly and hands on with the students.
