This lighthouse's history starts back in 1896. There was a stretch of coast between Navesink and Barnegat lighthouses that was dark at that time so Sea Girt lighthouse was constructed to fill that gap. Place was not open on a Saturday but has hours on Sundays 2-4. One star off because I wish it had tours available on Saturday . Hopefully, we'll get back there to take the tour soon.

Everyone in the building was extremely nice and answered all questions we had. At the top floor you can climb up a short ladder 🪜 to the top of the lighthouse where there's a beautiful veiw of the beach nearby with binoculars to look further. 10/10

Nice pinch of history can be learned by visiting this location. Friendly knowledgeable folks giving the tour. Nice view from above looking over the area.

What a unique lighthouse and great living reminder of what made the NJ Shore. The lighthouse is impeccably maintained by a committee of local community volunteers. The structure is complete with artifacts, maps, pictures, stories of how the lighthouse guided ships along the Jersey shore. Definitely worth a visit when in the area. Checkout their website for availability and walk the boardwalk.

Beautiful spot-very clean. This house plans and pretty well with the rest of the homes there if it wasn’t brick you might miss it. Closed today but we walked 4.1 miles on the beautiful boardwalks and beaches in sea girt and spring lake. So well maintained. Bathroom. Trash cans and benches available. Lovely spot to spend time anytime of year.

I have visited this lighthouse a few times and I think it’s one of the most beautiful in NJ. The decor inside definitely takes you back in time. The view from the light is wonderful! Before you leave, go across the street and take a walk on the beach.
