Cloudland Falls are beautiful! The hike is ALL UPhill to reach them and there is a lot of rock hopping, but I think they are worth seeing! Not only is there Cloudland Falls but 2 others along the way besides lots of cascades. The whole of Franconia Notch State Park is AWESOME!!! Go there, you won't be disappointed :-)

When I finally made it to Cloudland Falls after the lengthy, strenuous hike up, I’ll never forget the feeling of not being able truly process what I was seeing at first. I can go on and on and I still will never feel there will be enough words to describe just how truly breathtaking it is! Like something out of a fairy tale! 80 feet tall and majestic with cascades gently showering you with spray (very refreshing after a challenging hike!) and creating so many rainbows in the mist. And when you finally arrive at the falls and see it all and think back on the hike you get a sense of reward and accomplishment - Wow! I did this! The hike itself is approximately 1.5 miles long. On the way up you’ll see several additional waterfalls along the way including Stairs Falls and Swiftwater Falls, each one becoming more and more impressive. You’ll also be crossing Dry Brook a couple of times so be prepared that your feet and shoes will get wet, especially during high water season - the current can be very strong and fast-flowing so use caution during this time. As you climb higher, the path gradually becomes steeper, narrower and more challenging and, to not sugarcoat it, potentially more dangerous with rugged, rocky terrain of roots, rocks and boulders to traverse. Make sure to watch where you step, wear the appropriate hiking shoes and bring the proper equipment to avoid any risk of injury, especially during more extreme weather conditions such as rain or snow, the rocky terrain can become extremely slippery! For moderate, intermediate or advanced hikers, the climb shouldn’t be too difficult, but for those less experienced, just keep things in mind. I wouldn’t call myself an experienced hiker, just a young and spry twentysomething year old woman, and I had no issues! Totally well-worth it! A must see in the White Mountains!

Beautiful waterfall along the trail up to (or down from) Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Lafayette (the Franconia Loop). Nice place for a quick break and some pictures.

It’s about a mile and a half hike on route to the top a little haystack. Beautiful cascade falls.

I absolutely loved this trail and the hike up to this waterfall. It was worth the trip! Hiking along the river on a sunny, crisp fall day was wonderful. The trail was busy, but not overly packed for a Saturday.

This is such a beautiful place. This is around 1.9 miles hike. (Took us approx 2 hrs total to climb). I loved this place and we even saw Rainbow on that water fall. Hiking trails are full of stones which we need to climb ( small stones) and we even need to cross small area of river but it’s fun to do when we see that beautiful water fall on top ! We loved it and it is free !
Recommend to do this hike separately not on same day with other activities

Awesome waterfall and nice hike about 1.5 miles. Your feet will get a little wet because you have to cross the water a couple of times. A few spots were the path was difficult in places but not to bad. My dog had no problems on the hike.
