Arenal Sanctuary Reserve

Not really sure what kind of tour we just went on. I found this place on google maps and read some good reviews so I texted the number attached and booked a night tour for 2 people. We were dropped off at the address which is at the end of an unlit dirt road with no signage. There was a guy waiting there who didn’t seem to know we were coming. However, after confirming, Kenneth took us through the trails for well over the 1h40 promised (ended up being 2h15, but only about 800m to 1km walk). He was a friendly guide and was able to help us see many different types of frogs, mushrooms, plants, insects, etc. We weren’t blown away by the amount or depth of info he shared, he rather pointed things out as we went along, however overall we enjoyed it. Seemed like good value for the cost and would recommend to others.

Wonderful! Kenneth is an amazing guide. We saw 2 types of snakes, frogs, other insects. Was such a great experience and fairly priced compared to others. Go on a rainy night if you can.

We did a night tour. So many frogs and different active animals at night. This was a personal tour, so we were able to ask all the questions we wanted and get detailed answers.
The place was easy to find with Google maps, but off the beaten path (down a little dirt road) from the main La Fortuna downtown area.
Sloths are fun to see at night, they move more. If you are a fan of frogs, you will find every species of them at night. It is am entirely different world in Costa Rica jungle at night.
We were provided flashlights and our guide, Carlos, was well versed in the animals and excited to show us all of them.
Cash only, so bring that.

After our tour, we had fresh pineapple waiting for a snack.

We did a night walk tour and saw many different kinds of frogs. And the highlight? Two sleeping toucans! The guide was very knowledgeable and he also designed/planted parts of the forest to establish biodiversity. I very much enjoyed our chats on conservation, and I would highly recommend this tour if you are in La Fortuna!

This is a fantastic place! Jairo is a great guide. We saw several sloths, frogs, and various other flora and fauna. Please visit this, it is one of the rare nature conservation zones in town and will get cut down without sufficient customers.

Highly recommended. This is a must! I booked a night guided tour and the experience was just amazing. We saw lots of different frogs, toucans, iguanas, etc. The tour was done with lots of passion and knowledge of course. They even brought me back to the hotel!! Keep up the good work guys.
