The Consular section of Germany in Paris is really amazing from the day 1 till the day when I got my German Research Visa in hand. The moment I got to know from the website that "The booking procedure has been changed. It is no longer possible to reserve an appointment directly on the website and we need to register on their visa waiting list", I booked my appointment online by filling in all the detail in the link provided at the website.
They sent me a confirmation mail with a booking ID stating that the Date and time of my appointment will be announced via email around two weeks prior to the appointment reserved for me. Please note that the waiting time is of at least 16 weeks.
Just after 14 weeks I got an email with my appointment date and after exactly 16 weeks I went with all my documents which are mentioned in the website (I had already filled in the online application form and took 2 signed copies during my interview).
The lady at the Consular section was amazing. She looked at all the documents with utmost care and constant smile on her face. She was very polite and helpful with everything and the whole process went smoothly which took just 20 minutes. I had to submit all the documents in two sets (including the cover letter) and finally handed over the application fees in cash to her. I was then informed that i will get another email within a couple of days when the VISA will be ready for pick up. I got an email the very next day and I went to the Consular section the day after during the mentioned time slot (Mon-Thurs - 13:30-14H; Fri- 11:30-12) and the same lady very carefully attached the German Visa sticker to my Passport after verification of my details from my end.
Note: The passport was not collected during the interview. I carried my passport during the visa delivery and they pasted the visa sticker in the passport before delivery.
NEGATIVE POINT: The waiting time for getting a visa appointment is really very long (3months) and hence unbearable in cases of emergencies. One needs to plan and book an appointment keeping this issue in mind.
German Embassy and consulate should really work on improving this situation may be by appointing more manpower or by increasing the time slots.
Apart from that everything else was butter smooth.

It took me two months to receive an appointment date, but I received a visa confirmation email the very next day of the appointment. Smooth Service.

Can someone help me, its been three months I am contacting the consular section without any answer!!, these people are unreachable!! is there any other email different to the one on the website?
How long I have to wait before getting an appointment?
How long I have to wait before getting an appointment?

I traveled 4hours with a sick baby for a stamp from the German consulate, authorising my signature for a formality to send in Germany. The man from the frontdesk almost kicked me out, he said I should come another day, for there is noone to attend me. I came 30 min later, as he told me they were on a lunch break ( on internet there is no such info, for lunch break , from when to when). When I came back, the man who attended me didn't even let me inside the consulate, he came with a piece of sheet, where he handwrote some dates when I should come back, as the person from Etat Civil was not there that day. One day before I called the whole day and noone answered. The way I was treated I found it very unprofessional, not kind and not updated. Not to mention his only solution was to come back another day, he didn't even guide me to go somewhere else to get my signature authentificated, as the cityhall of where I live, for instance, or a public notary from anywhere in France. The police station is not authentificating anymore for 15 years, but apparently the documents and authorities are not updated either. Disappointed and would not recommend it, per total. They are unprofessional, not kind and not updated.

even though it took me months to get an appointment, on the day of the appointment, everything went very smooth, everyone I interacted with at the consulate was sweet, understanding and co-operative. Kudos to the team

One of the most efficient consular sections ever. Their whole process is so well streamlined and on top of that they have the friendliest staff. From the entrance to the visa section, I was met with smiles.
A very pleasant experience.

I came there for an emergency passport as mine has been stolen here in Paris. First of all, the email they send you indicate the address of the Embassy, not the Consular Section. I arrived 30min late because of this.
The person that welcomed me at the Embassy told me that this was a recurrent problem, and not to worries as the Consular Section is used to it. When I arrived at the Consular Section, I dealed with a very arrogant and mean Karen. Anyway, I paid my 65€ fee and she told me that she did all the necessary and that I should come by tomorrow morning to retrieve my emergency passport. That was a complete lie as I found out that she did not do anything in the end. I sent her an email in the morning and she replied "I can't open the photo of your passport", it was a .jpg, how can't you open it? And why do I have to email you? Should'nt you contact me in this case? This is completely unprofessional. But the worst thing is surely that she asked me to "contact Leipzig" to tell them about the emergency. What, who should I contact in Leipzig? I asked back and she just answered "Leipzig". Is it a joke? If so it is of really bad taste... In the end, I am supposed to flight back on Monday, the Consular Section is closing in 40min and obviously closed on weekends, I will not have my emergency passport in time thanks to this person.
