We went for lunch and the food was not very good. Very oily ribs, the Moroccan salad was mostly onion, and the kids had very oily pizza. They were nice, but I would not go back. We just had dinner at the Riad Ali and the place was superb.

Ottima location per bere un tè, vista sulle dune intorno e sulla affollata strada. Se questa recensione vi è stata utile lasciate un like .

After, a week of seeking a good cuppa Joe, we found it here! If you're missing an Americano or a cappuccino, look no further. This was the best coffee we had between Azrou and Khemliya but, even better? The Berebere omelette. Succulent, savory, well-spiced, we loved this dish, and never found one as good again during our remaining weeks in Morocco. The dusty road and endless sound of 4-wheelers dubs the mood but the food was fantastic and a great value.

The best place in Merzouga I could find! Amazing tajine and berber omelet!

I came here for a breakfast and I liked their Berber style Omelette which came with egg cracked over boiling tomato sauce on a hot tagine and tasted similar to shakshuka. It was served with a generous plate of olives and bread.

So I was happy with the food and the chill atmosphere on the terrace, especially after the overnight bus ride from Fes to Merzouga.

What I was most impressed though was an honest act by a staff there.

I was greeted into the restaurant by one man. When I finished my plate and wanted to make the payment, I did so with another man (I think). I got the accurate change. Later, a few minutes after walking out of the restaurant, a man was chasing after me on a bicycle, saying "One minute, money" At first, I assumed he was a stranger trying to hustle me and ignored him. He asked for my attention again and pulled money out of his money belt. I realized then that he was the first man who greeted me in. Then he said I paid 100 DH and I actually only needed to pay 55 DH for the food, and he tried to hand me the change of 45 DH, though I had already received it at the restaurant. I replied that I had already received it and that he should keep the money because I don't want to unfairly take extra from them. It took us a few back and forth of "You should keep this money" until he understood my point of view and said thanks. So I assume there was a miscommunication between the staff for him to chase after me to return the change. Regardless, I was very touched by the effort he made to be honest with his customer like this. It made my day 🙂
Best place to take the famous picture! And the prices for a coffee or a short meal is pretty fair.

Good cafe/restaurant for food and drinks. Espresso was excellent, morrocan salad and the chicken kefta/skewer was good. Real chips/fries. There is no aircon but for sports guys/girls, we saw them screening football on TV.
