The Oyster Box Hotel

An absolutely fantastic experience at the oyster box high tea. We made a booking well in advance for a birthday and with a few specific dietary requirements. Everything was catered for and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They were very attentive and accommodating to make sure we had a great experience. The food was excellent and the vegetarian options were abundant.
Will definitely visit again. Well worth the experience.

An absolute must and our favourite spot in the globe. The entire experience from arrival to departure was a dream. The staff are friendly, professional and always at your service with a smile. The food - divine, drinks -superb, rooms - plush and hearty, the spa - a haven, the view - breathtaking. My home away from home. Thank you Oyster Box, for making my birthday sublime. You are appreciated and we will be back.

An absolute must. You are well attended to by knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Staff is friendly and always ready to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Food is great...and very well presented. The venue has beautiful views of the ocean and lighthouse. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good service and food. A delight

I have to give Nic at reception a shout out. Best guest service I’ve ever experienced. We we’re only going to stay one night, booked another because we loved the place so much. Top notch experience, if I could give the service 6 stars I would! Thank you to the staff for such a memorable time!

Such a gorgeous hotel. Didn't stay here but visited for dinner and a second time for coffee.

Spectacular view of the coast and lighthouse and stunning architecture and decor throughout.... Looks colonial.

The staff were very attentive. They were knowledgeable about the dishes and so helpful bringing blankets later in the evening.

Meals were more expensive here than in many places I've eaten in South Africa, but you are paying for the quality of everything around you.

Was the food the best I had eaten? No not quite but was still very good. I had crayfish and prawn pasta but it was rather sweet for my taste. I was unable to finish it as it got a little sickly towards the end. That could just be personal preference.

A colleague ordered chilli pasta but she also said this was sweetened too.

Definitely go up and have a drink in the lighthouse bar at the top of the hotel as it offers stunning views and a luxurious place to sit and chat.

If you are lucky, some mornings, whales and dolphins can be seen from the restaurant.

Celebrated my birthday last month with getting spoilt at the Oyster Box High Tea.

The service of the staff (from the doorman to the waitresses) was excellent. They were attentive and accommodating to my requests.

The food was delicious. The buffer had the perfect selection of both sweet and savoury (there is so much, I couldn't try everything). The cheese cake was the best 😋 The brownies are highly recommended with cream, rich and amazing. Thank you to the staff for recommendation

Loved the music as well. There is a person playing the piano right next to the high tea area, and it was relaxing.

It was a spontaneous girls day out. We has opted for lunch with a view of the lighthouse and sparkling crystal blue pool.
I had fish and chips. Being Muslim, they explained that the battered fish would be swapped for a grilled fillet of fish. It was beautifully seasoned. I was surprised to find bones in the fillet. Perhaps the chefs could be more careful during preparation. My friend enjoyed the chicken wrap, which was quite flavourful and sumptuous. The side salad was crisp, bright and fresh.
Service was slow, due to the lunch rush. The wait staff were attentive despite the full restaurant. It just meant waiting a bit longer for food.

I would recommend this place, but perhaps during a quieter time if you're impatient.
