Manager was quite rude and ruined a perfectly good evening. We went in for drinks and food and all the bar seats were taken so I tried to look to the other side where there were open seats. Bald rude guy blocks my path and says hi. Proceeds to interrogate me as to why I'm here. I'm indian not sure if that had anything to do with it but it was weird and uncomfortable and not sure he would treat other patrons that way. Then he said he can't let me sit where there were the only open seats even though the other side at the was full not to mention the ac blasting on a cold day. I introduced myself since he was being so abrasive to ease the tension but he refused to let me sit then he proceeded to call me buddy in a belittling tone to shoo me away. So I told my friends let's leave and find another place. I used to love this area but bad vibes come with bad management and the guy ruined a good night we had after watching a show. Horrible customer service. Gonna avoid and you should find another place if you're looking for a relaxing night with friends and family.

To be honest I came to cover a story on the protesters of Lapoubelle and saw what your bouncer did to a few of them. My husband and I had just sat down to eat there after being told how amazing your food was by them. Two older women had just attacked the protesters as they walked by for no reason except they were friends of Francoise. Then your bouncer shined his flashlight in the protesters eyes through the front door on several occasions. We got up and left and so did several others. What he did is actual illegal therefore he needs to be reprimanded for it. I’m not sure who the other man was that walked out as I was leaving, but he needs to be more respectful also. Please be more mindful of your employees.

Great spot in Hollywood to post up for a moment. It’s across from the celebrity Scientology center and next to UCB so lots of good people watching. It was very loud inside so we are on the patio. We went for late night loitering so food was classic bar far - nice to munch on but nothing that will change your life, all to say, it does the job!

My colleague wanted to try something new and suggested we try Birds. We always drive by and it’s packed with people. Usually it’s a sign food is good. Well for me I don’t get what the big hype is.

The place itself is cool. Didn’t particularly like a sign that they have on the wall that states something about loose women. Sure the sign comes off as funny, but might make some women upset. Especially now a days.

Our server was good, but seemed swamped as he had all the tables and a Buser to assist. He still remained attentive which was amazing.

We ordered fried pickles. They were some of the best I’ve ever had and their sauce was on point.

I also had the French onion soup. Not a big fan. Too much bread in the soup. You can also taste allot of butter from them toasting the baguette before they put in the soup. The soup itself didn’t exhibit much flavors. The mozzarella wasn’t very good either. Not sure what brand they use, but it’s definitely not of high quality. Also, this is one of the most expensive French onion soups I’ve had. For that being said…definitely not worth the price.

My colleague and I both had burgers. Yes, I know we go to a chicken place to get beef. The buns were dry. Meat was cooked perfectly, but had no salt or any flavor.

The Mac and cheese that came with my burger was exactly that. No effort, no wow factor, and no seasonings. Just pasta, cheese, and a sprinkle of bread crumbs on top. Box Mac & cheese is way better than this…lol.

I tasted my colleges baked beans. They were good with allot of smoky flavor.

All and all I don’t really know what the buzz is about either this place, because if you truly had people who had a good pallet this place probably wouldn’t be open as long as it has been. Not a fan and would only recommend the fried pickles with maybe a beer.

Great local place with a cool vibe, good service and decent food. Not 5-star, but decent and I'd go back. Had the chicken pot pie (okay) and chicken fingers (better). Nice staff and bar area.

I’ve been coming here since high school, just as great (though smaller) as I remember. Definitely worth the side trip, good and relatively modestly priced food in a friendly atmosphere. Try the garlic mashed potatoes if there.

After a hike to the Hollywood Sign, my friend found a great local business that's known for their rotisserie chicken. They have outdoor seating by the sidewalk which was full when we arrived at 130 pm but we were promptly seated after a table opened up. I had a salad with added chicken and was surprised by the large portion of chicken breast. Unfortunately I found the chicken a bit dry but the rest of the salad and dressing complemented well. My friend enjoyed the tuna burger and I noticed it had plenty of fixings and looked flavorful. The staff was great in checking in every so often, and I can understand why this place is a local favorite.
