This will always be our go to place. The owner care much about his customers, always very welcoming and friendly.
My wifey is pregnant, craving for sushi 24/7 (only from this place) and they always happy to help.
Highly recommended, not only for the quality of the ingredients but also for the atmosphere and great taste!

I really don't know why the name of the restaurant is Ichiban. Ichiban means number one this place is not number one.....not even the sushi rice is number one.
Maybe in person they can understand when you ask for a substation. I don't recommend because even for Takeout phones exist to ask if they are understanding correctly. Do yourself a favor and spend 50 dollars on a decent meal elsewhere.

Popped in on a rainy weekday. Wanted something warm and tasty and wow did this delicious udon soup hit the spot! Chock full of veggies and chunks of chicken. Also an egg and shrimp tempura. Piping hot broth and great service.

This is a great place for quick, delicious reasonably priced food. Love the bamboo and flower decor. Great service again. What a find!

Solid spot to go to for a casual dinner! Everything was tasty, but nothing was amazing. The tonkotsu was pretty good and my friend said the sushi was great!

I ordered out from Sapporo Ichiban because I could not go out. Food came faster than I expected. I went to eat at the place long time ago and other than that I only got deliveries. About the quality of fishes, the price should be lower than this, but I understand the cost of living in Greenpoint, so I look over it.

My order was.....
- Shoyu Ramen: broth with braised pork belly, egg, shredded, wood-ear mushroom, bamboo shoots and fish cakes. 6/10
- Mixed Seafood Salad: Shrimp, Octopus, Squid, Kani with spring mix. 6/10
- Manhattan Roll: Spicy crunchy salmon roll, tuna, salmon and avocado on top. 6/10
- Tuna Jalapeno Roll: Small 8 pcs 8/10
- Bonzai Tree: Crab avocado, caviar, ebi wrapped with cucumber. 7/10

The score I gave are quality/price/and taste. I can say if you want to eat take out quality sushi in a budget, Sapporo will be another choice that isn't too bad.

I stopped in this place for a quick bite and it was unfortunately not the best experience. I was enticed by the free sake for over $15 checks which is a pretty great deal. The oshinko and plum rolls were poorly made. They were sloppily chopped and falling apart. The miso soup was 100% great as was the tuna jalepeño - no complaints there and for free sake I also won’t complain. *But the waitress was also not very friendly, but hey, maybe she was having a bad day. Could be better but not the worst.

The best sushi! It’s so fresh and the quality of the fish is always the best. They definitely don’t cheap out on the cuts, they’re huge! The service is amazing and they give free sake with a minimum purchase. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve gotten there and always make a point to go when I’m in town.

We had a just ok experience here. The jpop(white peach) and soda(strawberry) was very good.

Sushi rolls were regular, not much flavor in the rice. Shrimp tempura was fried nice and softly yet crunchy.

Ramen was just ok, broth is deep but flavoring is eh. Tonkotsu and shoyu ramen were both flavored a lil different, color looked good. Noodles werent too good, after taste like egg noodles. Ingredients were good, pork was 4/5.

Wasn’t a fan of the bamboo, canned taste.
Bathroom was small and fit everything (sink toiler) in a boxed room.
