Bravo, James! Soho Recording has been great for my needs, from a fully engineered session to rentals where I can be left to my own devices. The team is knowledgeable, accommodating and flexible (which is an added bonus in NYC). I always look forward to working in their studio, which is a real find in the area.

Soho Recording is a magical gem hidden amongst the heart of one of Lower Manhattan's shmanciest neighborhoods. I know the space well from both sides of the glass; on my own artistic work, I've utilized the in-house talent of James Byron Schoen of Firecat Audio. As a producer, I booked time for my own professional client-facing projects. I've even rehearsed with chamber ensembles in the studio. The control room is fantastic - the Quested monitoring system fills an almost perfectly tuned room, making mixing pinpoint accurate. The control room is a very comfortable place to hang out and make music, and I often find that my clients and I spend most of our time there. The live room is truly a hidden gem - the brick wall, along with careful sound treatment, provides just enough character to give Soho its own vibe, while also perfect for very detail oriented work. It is one of the best rooms I've ever encountered for drums, from highly multi-tracked modern technical playing to big fat organic sounds. Whether you're an engineer or a client, you will love this space.
