Consulate General of Guyana

This does seem as though I will ever get 2 speak 2 a love agent I had a supe urgent question.I hv been calling for quite sometime not an answer. Maybe someone reading my review will respond. Does anyone know 4 sure if this is the right address? The message states they have moved. Someone anyone help!

I have applied for my birth certificate for the second time since January and still have not gotten it. When you finally get to talk to someone it's always next pile, I'll call you back today or tomorrow and still waiting for that call and my birth certificate . No help at all. What do you do? I live far away from NY who do you talk to? How do you get help? Very bad customer service.

Change of location and they didn’t update location on google. Service not good. The people are not helpful. If it had a zero would have use it. This is bad for the government of Guyana. Because everything reflects on the government.

I needed a new passport after several decades.
After checking the requirements from their website I was able to prepare myself with the appropriate documentation.
The interviewer was inexperienced but helpful.
I received my new passport as promised without any issues.
Very thankful for the assistance and professionalism.

Just to pick up my passport this is crazy
Have like 10 persons that came after me and I am still waiting here
Need have a better customer service at lease tell people something, stop wasting people time

Guyana need to send these people that work here back to school on how to treat people. Talk to people better and not rude, put a dam smile on your face it will not cost you anything

- information provided on the website said passport photo can be taken on site which is not correct. I was directed to go around the corner to Gifts and Luggage shop to have them taken. (The 2 photos cost $20.)
I didn’t like the photo so I asked for a retake but man was not happy he said it’s a passport photo no one will look at it and ask for his money. Only because I journey a far way to get there and it was getting late I went and paid for the photos.
- [ ] The payment process was quick and easy - provided credit card for the new passport and for it to be mailed to my residence to by FEDX which is an option that they have for additional fees.They said 4 to 6 weeks it will take. Today is May 3rd ,2023 and still I didn’t receive my passport, I sent an email after trying numerous times to call the number on the website with no answer, the phone kept ringing, no option to leave any message. Sad.
It would be nice to have someone return my call or respond to my email so I’ll know what to do. I really don’t want to take the long journey to get there and then told that it’s in the mail. I have to mention that door attendant/ guard was very courteous and helpful in answering my questions.

If I could give negative stars to this establishment I would. I cant believe the unprofessionalism and lack of care that these workers have for people coming into do business. The manager Clearly doesn't know her role. They have you waiting for over 2 hours for service just to tell you there computers are down and its the same MO every time you go there. If they don't want to work they should give the jobs to people willing to service people. Everyone in the reviews cant be wrong. They move slow and are unwilling to help. There is no customer service at all. I am completely disappointed and appalled at the service. I would never recommend anyone to travel to Guyana if they need a Visa. The Mentality is really sick at this place. We know the computer isn't down maybe just for some people but not everyone.
