This place is so affordable!! 7.5$-15$ service is super fast, and the food was so amazing!!!! Like honestly this place deserves 5 stars. I recommend the blue fin tuna and the scallop dish!!

I’ve had many amazing dinners here at Bistro Sakana, and it never disappoints! I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area, and whenever I am in Vancouver visiting family, this is a must-have. Yama San was very accommodating and prepared lots of great sushi and other dishes. Everything was not only delicious, but beautiful to look at.

I’m already looking forward to my next visit here!

Very fresh food with helpful and welcoming staff! Must try the tuna tataki, black cod aburi and the yellowtail. Would have ordered 2 more plates each if I could’ve. Located in Yaletown which can make parking difficult, but a nice area to take a post-meal walk as well.

We had dine out the other day. The dining experience at Bistro Sakana was delightful, with exceptional food that impressed us. However, the server's request for payment right after dessert felt a bit abrupt, slightly affecting the overall ambiance. Despite this, the culinary offerings make it a recommended choice for those who prioritize excellent cuisine.

Went here for Dine Out and it was amazing! We loved the smoked salmon sashimi, Sushi Platter and the yuzu cheesecake the most. Very good value and delicious food. The atmosphere and service was outstanding. Very nice and friendly wait staff. We will definitely be back to try out their regular menu!

Dine out 2024

Continues to have excellent appetizers, a whole 6 types with different textures and flavors. Distinct and thoughtful combinations although with different degrees of success (did not like sweet and sour Iberico pork)

Nigiris are average and dessert is store bought.

Portions are small and would recommend pre-eating before to appreciate the complex flavors in bites.

Came here during happy hours and ordered everything on the happy hours menu. My favourite is the tuna sandwich and BC roll and my least favourite is the fried Ebi (2nd dish on the menu). We regret not order the normal food on the menu because they look so good and we were too full to get more
