A breathtaking viewpoint of the whole city and beyond, on 360°. I really recommend going there at night as the views are even more stunning.

On a nice day you can get a great 360° view of the City! From Port of Oakland, downtown, Twin Peaks, and towards Daly City! Good exercise and stunning views!

A great place to see a 360-degree city view of San Francisco. It is exposed and has no much tree shade. So I don’t recommend it for a longer hike or run.

I love this place! It’s BETTER THAN TWIN PEAKS!! Twin peaks is so overrated with a mid view whereas Bernal Peak has a full 365 degree view of the entire city and a stunning vista point of the skyline of SF. You can drive up as well if you don’t want to walk up. It’s very popular for dog walking and there are some trails too! It’s also less touristy and usually parking by the trail head (just on the side of the road). No restrooms and no designated parking lot but sometimes it’s nice to park on Cortland street and then walk up!

Beautiful view of San Francisco. Good hiking and off-leash walking trails for your pup. Adequate free street parking but NO public restrooms

One of the best places (if not the best) to see the city view. Visited here during the summer so the peak looks “brown” but my understanding is that it changes color with the season.

Hiking shoes are not needed but definitely come up here with comfortable sneakers/running shoes.

Took the Esmeralda stairs/trails to get up. Very fun way to reach the peak and doable for all ages.

The peak was very gravel-y and it was also windy (meaning the dust gets carried away) when I visited. I don’t think it will be suitable place for a nice lunch break which is a shame.

Highly recommend to visit this peak to see the aerial views of SF
