We had a wonderful afternoon with friends at the park. We had a picnic and tried to BBQ but we weren't able to because the cooking area was faulty. Luckily we managed to cook at the BBQ of the aquatic centre. All good.

Great park for kids, has an area suitable for toddlers & young children & a decent climbing frame for older kids. Loads of space to run around & open enough that you can see the children without having to follow them around.
Also located next to the swimming pool & newly opened Splash cafe, so great for coffee & treats!

Good playground with equipment suitable for a big age range,
Grass field which can be used to play with a ball when not already in use. Feels quite secluded despite being close to main roads. The kiosk/ cafe at the pool seems to be reopening soon

A gem of a park with a key place in cricket history. Contains a nice playground, lovely pool and oval. Skip the cafe at the playground and go to The Pig&Pastry adjoining the park for proper food and drink.

Okay, cricket history, you ready? Petersham oval is where Don Bradman scored his first century in grade cricket (St. George vs Randwick/Petersham). It also has a mural commemorating Molly Flaherty, the first female fast bowler in test cricket.

It also has a lovely historic gazebo. And check out the street library, two, actually!

And, as of that weren't enough to make you enjoy this gem of a park, read the signage about dogs. It's fabulous.

It's truly hard to believe this park is one block from Parramatta Rd, it feels like you're somewhere completely apart from the city.

Nice clean park with a generally medium crowd. There's a cricket area, pool (opposite the park with a small cafe). Overall it's a pretty good area for dogs & the general public of families. There is also BBQ's.

Beautiful park for a walk. Upon entering the gate on Brighton St I was greeted in a friendly manner by an older gentleman walking his adorable dog. Heaps of people with their pets can be found here. The plaque on the entrance tells me it opened in 1887, so I felt the historic vibe. Tall well manicured trees greeted me with their shade in a uniform row along both sides of the footpath. Another plaque informs you this is where THE Donald Bradman scored his first century in cricket across the way in the well maintained sports oval.

There’s also the aquatic centre where people were coming for early morning laps in the pool. It’s named after Fanny Durack, Sydney’s first Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming. Across from that is a playground for the kids. All along the perimeter of the park are gorgeous old trees with opulent trunks - very picturesque. A lovely inner city park for walking and recreation!
